brown colored with a small tan head. smells nutty and fruity. smells like a typical brown ale. taste is malty nutty and a slight thin, but its still very nice. i keep looking for a brown ale that can stand up to rogues, but i cant seem to find one. this is still a pretty nice brown ale, and hey its actually legal in this state.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 alobar (1866) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 1, 2007
This beer impressed. Pours a nice dark brown with caramel highlights. Aroma is a mix of malts, chocolate, and fruit. Taste is a healthy combination of malts, chocolate, nuts and maybe caramel.

Pours a dark mahogany color with a small tope head. Nose: caramel, chocolate, roasted malt that smells a bit stale. Taste: Is watery burnt coffee. Actually kind of gross.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 corby112 (1862) - philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 21, 2009
Pours a dark chestnut brown color with slight mahogany edges when held to a light source and a thin half finger tan head that quickly fades into a thin ring. Not much in the way of lacing.
Toasted nutty malt aroma with subtle dark fruit notes and slight earthy hops.
Slightly watered down body with hints of toasted malt, hazelnut, chocolate maltiness, a slightly roasted toasty presence with subtle hops and a slightly dry finish. Very well balanced and easy drinking session beer.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Crosling (1861) - Loveland, Colorado, USA - OCT 3, 2004
Deep burgundy in color with a wispy white head. The head lasts throughout.
Doughy aroma, somewhat grassy with herbal and piney hops accompanied by a lovely chocolate and caramal malt backbone.
This is a very solid brown ale. Sort of robust for the style and quite hoppy. The hops are herbal. The malts are fruity, chocolatey and carmelly.
Good Brown Ale. I could pound a few.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 mgumby10 (1856) - Jupiter, Florida, USA - JUL 29, 2007
Pours a mildly hazy brown with an off white head. The aroma has a little nutty roastiness, some malt presence, maybe a little dark fruit. Pretty light bodied, with very mild flavor. A little bit roasty and nutty as well, but the flavor is pretty lacking here. Definitely could use a little more body too. A little bit sweet, maybe some mild cinnamon notes or brown sugar. Overall, pretty drinkable, but about as unexciting as it gets.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 GAManiac (1852) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - JAN 5, 2010
12oz bottle courtesy of thecarster1.
Pours a deep clear copper with a huge creamy off-white head that shows excellent retention as a cap for ages.
The aroma is pretty bland for a brown with a ton of sweet chocolate malts and some nuts. Maybe some sweet fruits as well.
The taste is more of the same with some faint chocolate malts forming a backbone underneath some lightly toasted nuts. The finish is where it gets a little dodgy as there is a metallic bitterness that limits the drinkability a bit.
The mouthfeel is a little light for me, almost watery, with too much carbonation for my liking.
This is another decent but not overly impressive member of Brooklyn year-round lineup.
