COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn Brown Ale, made exclusively with American ingredients, won Bronze medals at the Great American Beer Festival in the Strong Ale Category in 1991 and in the American Brown Ale Category in 1992. Brooklyn Brown uses pale, crystal, chocolate, and black malts to attain a complex creamy texture. It is more heavily hopped than its British forbears.

bottle poured a mahogany in color with average carbination and a one finger head of light tan foam melting back to a thin layer with good retention. aroma has chocolate and caramel malt, light roasted coffee, and slight sweetness like molasses. mouth feel is medium light with some creaminess. flavor is malted first with more coffee than in the nose, touch of sweetness, and some faint bitter dark chocolate. again a nice drinking beer from Brooklyn medium on the hardiness scale with a finish that stays strong on the tongue for a minute.

UPDATED: DEC 8, 2007 [Sampled at Dexter.] Maybe my favorite of the "normal" brown ales. Full of ingredients, hops, spices, coffee, fruit, complex, bitterness and a long nice time lasts it to swallow this nice brew!

Pretty decent brown ale, smells like what you might expect from a brown ale darker roasty malts, the smoothness of this beer was quite good.

12oz bottle in a shaker. Pours brown with a thick, beige head. Aroma of caramel malts with a little toffee and chocolate plus some floral hops. Flavor about the same with a good mixture of everything. Average texture. A good brown ale.

UPDATED: AUG 27, 2007 Tap at RFD Washington. Somewhat clear chestnut pour with bright orange edges. Aroma of wild rice and earth, soaked in a bright, fresh maple syrup. Tastes creamy and fruity with hints of hazelnut and caramel. A very sharp suggestion of temporanillo red with mineral water slowly dominates. Dark, fruity, and sugary with somewhat poor attentuation. Simple. Smooth palate with a reasonably long life, finishing on a dry, woody note. Quite a lot of tangy honey hangover. Nothing unexpected.

The dark brown color has a red hue in the light and a creamy light tan head. The flavor starts with light roasty malts, not very sweet. You get subtle bitter notes from the hops lying under the palate. The flavor is creamy withsome sweetness laying on ther palate after. Aroma of smooth malt and a bit of roastiness and nutty.
