Brooklyn Brown Ale, made exclusively with American ingredients, won Bronze medals at the Great American Beer Festival in the Strong Ale Category in 1991 and in the American Brown Ale Category in 1992. Brooklyn Brown uses pale, crystal, chocolate, and black malts to attain a complex creamy texture. It is more heavily hopped than its British forbears.

A very dark cloudy brown with a thin head. Great nutty flavour with a smooth mouth feel, well carbonated. A very nice beer

Bottle. Pours clear darkish brown with offwhite head. Aroma is malty with some caramel and roasted malt yet hoppy with some grassy notes. Taste is primarily malty with caramel and light roasted malt and a hint of chocolate. Taste has some hoppiness with grass, hay and straw. Finish is quite bitter and dry.

330ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours mid brown with small tan head. Aromas of malt, caramel, some leather. Similar flavour, big caramel hit up front, some hoppiness coming through later.

Dark brown color. Lovely aroma of chocolate and hops. Taste was a letdown, like most brown ales. Dry, hoppy, spritzy, with some lemon, roasty, and hop flavor. Probably tastes good with grilled food.

Pours clear brown with medium light brown head, little lacing. Nose of coffee and toffee, also notes of chocolate, caramel, malt and a little herbal flavor. Tastes more bitter than sweet, bitterness is rather roasty with some roasty acidity as well. Palate is fairly dry, medium carbonation. Midway between brown ale and stout, with a nicely balanced flavor that is not overwhelmed by roastiness.

On tap at Stirling Hotel. The head does dissipate quite quickly, beautiful malty, biscuit aroma with a very smooth full bodied mouthfeel. Extremely smooth, extremely drinkable. Probably my favourite brown ale in this ABV range

Big scents of malt, licorice and bread. Pours a dark, opaque brown with a tan head. Tight bubbles and dissipates after time. Good lacing. Starts big with falvors of caramel and burnt toast. But it has a short, abrupt finish with a sour that doesn’t linger. Light carbonation. All in all like a good but unassertive porter. Quite nice.

12oz Bottle - pours dark brown thin head - coffee and chocolate on the nose - spicy on the pallet - great balance of bitter and sweetness.

En forfriskende og fyldig ale, den smager lidt af lakrids og har en god sødme.

I do not wax on poetically about beer but I do know the quality of a beer once tasted. This review is not about my tastes but reinforces the numbers, which are arbitrary.

On tap at Burger Bar. Pours dark brown, clear, single finger tan coloured head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of coffee, spice, chocolate...Initial taste of nuts, coffee, chocolate, then some spice, caramel. Very nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
