COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn Brown Ale, made exclusively with American ingredients, won Bronze medals at the Great American Beer Festival in the Strong Ale Category in 1991 and in the American Brown Ale Category in 1992. On tap at Hill Tavern, Boston. Pours a medium brown with a small white head that leaves nice trailing patterns on the glass. Nose is on the sugar side and lightly nutty. Taste is hopefully not too sweet, nutty and lightly fruity (the general english yeast fruitiness). Carbonation was really high (blame the pub) and body medium. Good brown ale.

Bottle, 355mL. Home. A dark brown beer with mahogany hues through the light. Medium thin beige head. Poor persistence. Fruity aroma (grape, plum, blackcurrant), roasty and smoky, herbal, liquorice. Medium sweet and bitter. A bit refreshing. Medium body, thin texture, average to soft carbonation, bitter finish with a light warming note. Overall, a delicious aroma for this Brooklyn brown ale. Cheers !

330ml bottle from, I think, Microbar, Manchester. Pours very dark brown with cream head. Aroma is earthy dark treacle, taste is sweet molasses, smooth caramel and an earthy bitterness. Perhaps a bit too sweet and oily, but it’s alright.

The body has a dark mahogany color with a light tan head on top. The head quickly fades down to just a ring on bubbles around the edge of the glass. The lacing is mostly slick and slides down the glass with just a little bit sticking to the glass. The aroma sweet with hints of roasted and toasted malt. Up front the flavor has a nice sweet bready malt with hints of roasted barley, caramel and toffee. The hop flavor is mellow but adds very good balance to the finish. It has a big round and smooth texture with soft carbonation and a solid medium to full body.

Butelka 355ml. OCZY : piwo ma kolor ciemnobrązowy. Piana jest mała o kolorze beżowym. NOS : ciasto czekoladowe, czekolada, rodzynki, toffi, lody śmietankowe, skórka pomarańcza. USTA : piwo jest delikatnie gazowane, średniej gęstości, kremowe. Średnio słodkie o wyraźnych nutach słodowych przypominające czekoladę i karmel. Mocne i przyjemne nuty owocowe i palone nadają delikatnej cierpkości. Gorycz jest podobna do lury. Posmak cierpki i owocowy, delikatnie przypominający mokry węgiel.
