Commercial Description:
Brooklyn Brown Ale, made exclusively with American ingredients, won Bronze medals at the Great American Beer Festival in the Strong Ale Category in 1991 and in the American Brown Ale Category in 1992. Brooklyn Brown uses pale, crystal, chocolate, and black malts to attain a complex creamy texture. It is more heavily hopped than its British forbears.

Very thin, a little too bitter for a brown ale. Poor balance, but a nice aroma and initial malt.

Dark amber, with a small brownish head. Aroma is fruity with some cirtus. Flavor brings plum, and all together this is a rather mild and ok ale.

Deep burgundy in color with a wispy white head. The head lasts throughout. Doughy aroma, somewhat grassy with herbal and piney hops accompanied by a lovely chocolate and caramal malt backbone. This is a very solid brown ale. Sort of robust for the style and quite hoppy. The hops are herbal. The malts are fruity, chocolatey and carmelly. Good Brown Ale. I could pound a few.

Expertly poured from the bottle at The White Horse on Parsons Green (London), light brown in colour with a large pillowy head. A subtle malty aroma with hints of cherries. More carbonated than expected, but again a pleaantly sweet maltiness comes through in the flavour with a rich mouthfeel that comes through smoothly. A different take on a brown ale and an enjoyable one for me.

Pours with a sall brown head on a clear brown body. Malty aroma with some nice earthy hops. Sweet malty taste with a trace of bitterness towards the end.

Pours dark brown with ruby highlights and no head to speak of. Aroma is nutty, toasty, carmel. Taste is lightly roasted malts and carmel. Little alcohol presence. Mouthfeel is fairly thin for the style. Decent pairing with hearty meal at this price point.

Nice brown color with medium head. Very hoppy for a brown ale. Better on tap than in the bottle. In the bottle it seems a little too fruity. Creamy body with slight bitter finish. A good brown ale.
