Commercial Description:
Brooklyn Brown Ale, made exclusively with American ingredients, won Bronze medals at the Great American Beer Festival in the Strong Ale Category in 1991 and in the American Brown Ale Category in 1992. Brooklyn Brown uses pale, crystal, chocolate, and black malts to attain a complex creamy texture. It is more heavily hopped than its British forbears.

(bottle from j12601). Dark brown color. Medium tan head. Roasted malt aroma. Watered down malt flavor. Avg duration. Smooth finish, with light dryness at the end. Thin texture. Moderate carbonation. Spare lacing.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with ruby tint and tight, receding off-white head. Aromas of tobacco, caramel, clove, cherry, and chocolate. Flavors of caramel, tobacco, leather, cherry and chocolate with soy sauce and roasted nuts. Medium body. Oily and lingering finish. Great within style.

Bottle at The Lodge in Charlotte. Pretty intense chocolate and dark malt aroma that lead to an unfortunately lacking taste in my opinion. Was somewhat creamy and almost seemed a bit watered down. Still enjoyable but if it was just a little more full bodied I think it would be a great beer.

12oz bottle from Chevy Chase in DC. Pours clear dark brown with a medium-sized off-white head. Aroma is caramel, nuts, and chocolate. Flavor is great for the style, with caramel and chocolate malts, toffee, and nuts. Smooth on the palate with a medium-light body that makes it really drinkable. Very good northern English brown ale overall.

This brown ale poured a deep red colour with a fast living, tan coloured head. To the nose there are scents of juniper, soy sauce, brown sugar and a little cocoa. First swig was rich and not quite as full bodied as I remember. Flavours of roasted malts and coffee are the first to come to life. The finish is slightly bitter with roastyness lingering

On tap @ playwrights, 8th ave location, on Halloween. Dawns a delightful chestnut brown with fluffy beige head. Taste is sour citrus combined with sweet malts, earthy tones, and roasted hazelnut. Really, really good. Call me crazy but it’s near amazing for the style... just wish I saw more hops like DFH IBA
