Brooklyn Brown Ale, made exclusively with American ingredients, won Bronze medals at the Great American Beer Festival in the Strong Ale Category in 1991 and in the American Brown Ale Category in 1992. Brooklyn Brown uses pale, crystal, chocolate, and black malts to attain a complex creamy texture. It is more heavily hopped than its British forbears.

Poured dark brown, with a bubbly, beige head. Faint aroma of fresh baked wheat bread. Taste is one-dimensional, but smooth. I got bread with a little bit of citrus fruit in there, which was kind of odd, but not unpleasant.

Boa breja, aroma suave, tons de caramelo com malte tostado. Não agressiva, espuma não muito duradoura porém fica bonito quando servido no copo.

Aroma: caramel, bready malt, a little plum and raisin. Flowery hops also. Taste: bread, toast. Qiute bitter but not much hops in the taste. Low sweetness. A little watery palate. Dark red/brown with a disapearing brown head.

Aroma is subtle, with malt and maybe coffee. Taste is better, with the chocolate and coffee coming through, but it’s not as smooth so the taste is almost interrupted but the finish is nice.

Bottle. No head, deep brown color. Smells like chocolate and toffee. Taste is mild chocolate and mild hops. Overall rather plain and mild. Bottle is four months out of days, however.

Another great brew from Brooklyn. Not a huge fan of brown ales but there’s so much to this beer in both the aroma and the taste. The aroma is super complex with a variety of malts used, giving off milk chocolate, caramel, and peanut scents with a floral hop character coming through. Jumping to the taste of the beer, roasted malts come through thick and fast and the taste pretty much follows the aroma with the hop bitterness coming in right at the back of the mouth after your mouth is washed with the roast malts, milk chocolate, peanut, and caramel flavours. I could say a lot about this beer but let me just say its a pretty great brown ale with a lot of different flavours to pick out - I’m sure different people will get lots of different things from this one!
