COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn Brown Ale, made exclusively with American ingredients, won Bronze medals at the Great American Beer Festival in the Strong Ale Category in 1991 and in the American Brown Ale Category in 1992. Brooklyn Brown uses pale, crystal, chocolate, and black malts to attain a complex creamy texture. It is more heavily hopped than its British forbears.

Tried on cask at the Brooklyn Brewery. Really great aroma and flavor of chocolate, dried fruits, and toasted bread.

Rica en aromes; briox, panses, alcohol, herba, un pel de diacetil.. En boca sabors torradets de cafe i xocolata, tambe un pel àcida.

Bottle from Beer Gonzo. Chestnut brown, with a head that fades very quickly. On the chunky, chewy side of medium bodied, more oily than creamy. Caramel and malt aroma, with a nice balance of sweetness and bitterness in the taste. There is something in here which, bizarrely, reminds me of the smells of a rich gravy cooking on the hob, with red wine and port in the mixture. Strange, but that’s what I got. Enjoyed this beer.

Bottle at Arlanda Airport. If I didn’t drink something after spending the whole day in Scandinavian airports I would go crazy! Poured a clear dark reddish brown with a round off white head. The aroma is roasted malts, red berry fruit, light molasses. The flavour is medium bitter with a light watery metallic hop bitter, dry mineral palate and a short bitter finish. Light bodied with soft carbonation. I’m surprised that this beer has such high ratings tbh. It’s way too light and has no body and leaves a rather unsatisfying aftertaste. I would not buy this again.

Bottle pour. Dark brown color with a half a finger head. Aroma is malty. Taste is a malt, a little bit of roast, and a little hop finish. Okay.

On tap at Hill Tavern, Boston. Pours a medium brown with a small white head that leaves nice trailing patterns on the glass. Nose is on the sugar side and lightly nutty. Taste is hopefully not too sweet, nutty and lightly fruity (the general english yeast fruitiness). Carbonation was really high (blame the pub) and body medium. Good brown ale.

Dark brown pour with light tan head. Aroma is malty. Very little roast if any. Taste is about the same. Ok, not great.

Bottle, 355mL. Home. A dark brown beer with mahogany hues through the light. Medium thin beige head. Poor persistence. Fruity aroma (grape, plum, blackcurrant), roasty and smoky, herbal, liquorice. Medium sweet and bitter. A bit refreshing. Medium body, thin texture, average to soft carbonation, bitter finish with a light warming note. Overall, a delicious aroma for this Brooklyn brown ale. Cheers !
