My mate said this was like a mixture of Guiness and dandelion and burdock. I disagree as it also tastes like it’s got cough mixture in it

Writes east coast film critic and internet sensation James Berardinelli on his Reelviews website which he submitted in 1999 critiquing the direct-to-video release, Zombie! Vs. Mardi Gras that he couldn’t even give one star to Mike Lyddon, Karl DeMolay and Will Frank (all three wrote, produced and directed the film.) I’m about to make of those ugly statements, and although I don’t wish to come off as an asshole, this truly was one of the worst beers I’ve ever consumed. You could even say its smells and flavors offended me, because they had done it so well that I would gladly pour myself a Mississippi Mud just to get the taste out of my mouth from this beer. It’s like a skunked Newcastle brown with notes of artificial vanilla, refined sugar and soggy pretzels. The vanilla notes were honestly too much... can’t write anything more besides "too artificial and too sweet" pertaining to the vanilla. I get some tree bark by swallow but it’s brief and very weak. Thin as hell. I’m not biased, I just hated this.

Had this in tap at Busy Bee, Raleigh-Apr2010. I didn’t get much bourbon from this and tbh it would have been welcomed for better balance. This beer was not as expected. It was cloyingly sweet. Good nose. Strong vanilla, very strong caramelized notes give way to noticeable alcohol on the back end.

found some old notes, served on tap. Dark brown color, can’t see through the liquid but it’s red up to the light, small head. Lots of dark fruits and oak to smell, rich roasty malts, some cola. Rich and flavorful taste of roasty malt, oak, vanilla. slightly sweet. lots of wood in the taste. Mouthfeel is super smooth with moderate carbonation. Overall it’s all about the wood, rich and heavy flavor.

Clear amber with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, light roasted malt and caramel. Flavor is quite sweet and light bitter. Sweet and roasted bitter finish. Poured by Garrett Oliver at the Copenhagen Beer Festival 2010. 070510

On tap at the blind tiger. Pours a nice mahogany brown with a decent head. Not much on the nose. Little bit of smoke and fat resembling deep fried aromas. Not liking the nose. Getting past that to the taste, the beer picks up remarkably. Sour cherries and brandy/bourbon come through very nicely. Mouth feel is a little watery. All in all a very interesting beer

Draft. Pours mahogany brown with a thin beige head. Sweet nutty and fruity aroma with toasted malts and a light bourbon hint. The flavor has sweet chestnut, dark fruits, chocolate, toast and light bourbon sweetness. Really good.

Draft at the gate.dark black. Fruity, sourish taste. Almost like a quad. Really deliiciois and flavorful

The beer is brown in color, light tan head, nothing special. The aroma and taste as you would expect are very nutty. The nut on the aroma is ok, but it overwhelms the taste and makes it just all about it. The feel and drinkability are ok, but nothing special

On tap at Ebenezer’s Pours out a dark brown almost black topped with a small tan head. Aroma was sweet, roast malts, vanilla, caramel, pit fruit, and some wood. Taste was much as the aroma with the sweetness leading the way caramel, and vanilla.
