dalekliz (314), San Diego, California, USA Jan 2, 2009 Bottle, shared at WeeHeavySDs 2000th rating party, with thanks to wetherel! Pours a deep dark reddish-brown with an off-white head. Big aroma, sour, sharp, and sweet - of juicy fruits, malt, pine, sugar, bourbon. Taste is quite sweet and sharp, of bourbon, malt, herbs, and sugar. Lingering sharp bourbon flavors. Different and very tasty. pantanap (899), Chicago, Illinois, USA Dec 31, 2008 750ml bottle. thanks to eyedrinkale for sharing this rare surprise at kuhnhenn... dark caramel brown pour, pretty murky with a decent light tan head...musty aroma with soft bourbon and caramel notes... flavors of caramel and toffee along with light bourbon and toasted malt. pretty lively mouthfeel and flavors finish pretty quickly. Eyedrinkale (3163), Beer Town, New York, USA Dec 21, 2008 Bottle. Pours with a frothy head that settles into a thin sheen. Aroma is bourbon but it doesnt smack you in the face. Flavor is a nice caramel with a soft carbonation and the bourbon complements it nicely. I thought this beer was a crazy idea but it really works. wetherel (1217), Encinitas, California, USA Dec 1, 2008 750 ml bottle from EDA shared at WeeHeavySD’s 2000th tasting. Thanks Mike! Brown. Light in flavor. Light malty sweetness. Doesn’t taste high in alcohol, now that I read the description I see the alcohol is lower (6.2%). Usually I think of sours and strong beers for barrel aging. This is an odd ball. Still tasty. Rciesla (1580), Brick City, New Jersey, USA Dec 1, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark brown body with a tan head. Chocolate, licorice, loads of chocolate, lots of bourbon and oak. Light fruitiness. Great beer.
