3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours brown to black and leaves a pretty small light tan head and sparse lacing.
Aroma wise itís more like a brown ale to me, somewhat sweet and caramelly, with roasty and toasty notes.
Taste includes some brown sugar, roasty and toasty flavors, caramel, some coffee and chocolate. Itís far sweeter than most dry stouts.
Body is pretty good, medium to thick, with a sweet, roasty aftertaste.
Itís tasty but if I were doing the whole thing blind I would assume it was a brown ale. Iím still happy to drink it tho.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: JUN 1, 2013 Poured bottle to glass. Big tan head. Dark cola color, red tones when held to light. Wonderful toasty/coffee/alcohol aroma. Taste is malty/bitter/sour. Thin texture. Lively carbonation. Pleasant dry finish. More fizz than Guinness and less of a creamy texture but a really solid low abv stout.

Pitch Black Color with a filmy brown head. Nose is roasted malts, chocolate and coffee. The flavor is also fairly consistant with the smell albeit a bit lighter and a slight grassy undertone. Body is light and moderately carbonated. Itís a good light stout the manages to be tasty and refreshing

Pretty decent reddish brown pour with a very drinkable finish. Has a malty roasted flavor with hints of coffee and caramel flavor. Very dry and crisp during the aftertaste

Tap at proletariat in NYC. Thanks puzzl. Clear ruby, deeper brown. Good tan lace. Nose is apple, toffee, red apple, very cidery. Lemon detergent. Taste is very thin, lots of soap, lemon. Pretty poor unfortunately.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz tulip glass on tap at the Underground Tap and Grill in Edmonton pours jet black in color with a finger of light brown head that leaves some thin lacing on the glass. Aroma is mild with roasted grains and chocolate. Taste is fuller with roasted grainy bitterness and chocolate malty sweetness. Mild carbonation and medium body. A very drinkable brew which would serve well as a dark session ale.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Really enjoyable brew on tap at Beer Revolution in Calgary. Great nitro head with big foamy tan mess and a purely black body. The nose has a mildly heavy roasted malt, a hint of espresso and slight cocoa note. Very drinakable and sessionable with the lower alcohol. Dry and crisp finish with a typical Irish style flavour.

Tap at Nano brew, pretty much like guinness so not a lot of love for me, but the 4% abv was nice to close out the night on.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Faint choc roast aroma. Taste is the same with a watery vibe - a quaffable stout right here. Unassuming and inoffensive.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before June 2013. Pours almost opaque dark brown color with a 1-2 finger dense tan head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of light milk chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, dark bread, toast, toffee, and some light and dark fruitiness. Solid and pleasant aromas with good balance; but there is hardly any strength here, very mild. Taste of milk chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, light coffee, dark bread, toast, toffee, floral, and light fruitiness. Lingering notes of chocolate, roast, dark bread, light toffee, and light fruitiness on the finish for a short bit. Nice and pleasant balance of dark malt flavors and subtle fruitiness; with zero cloying flavors present on the finish as expected. Medium carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a lightly creamy and fairly crisp mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is well hidden with zero warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a good dry stout. A little mild on flavors; but has good balance and is easy to drink. A pleasantly enjoyable offering.
