COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn Dry Stout is a bold, reddish-black Irish-style stout, rich in color but low in alcohol and very drinkable. The dark colors results from brewing with roasted malts, lending Brooklyn Dry Stout a chocolate/coffee-like flavor with a bit of an espresso bite. The finish is dry and crisp and invites another pint.

Bottle. Pours a very dark brown with almost no head on it. Nose is very dry and almost sour, with some decent roasting to it. Taste is also dry with roasting in there as well. Clean finish.

It’s decent, very watery in feel and earthy in taste, without much fire to back it up. The malts are kind of harsh, I like smooth stouts a lot more. Pretty good beer for the price though.

Bottle from central market. Pours a very dark brown to black color with a light tan colored head. Aroma is sweet malt and dark sugar. Light roast on the nose. Flavor is certainly roasted with a dry mouth feel and finish. Dark malts.

12 ounce bottle - $1.99 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.

BB JUN 2013

Appearance: Pours a very dark brown, near black body with a foamy, sandy brown head that settles out at a steady pace.

Smell: Roasted malts with a light scent of coffee, a little chocolate, too, and oven-roasted nuts. The hops mingle with the maltiness in the aroma to give a slight touch of Captain Black tobacco.

Taste: Malts notes of cola flavors, bittersweet chocolate, charred nuts, some dark caramel, roasted malt. Medium-low sweetness. English hops provide a little herbal bite and sufficient bitterness. A little hint of smokiness and some fruitiness comes out upon warming. Drying, herbal, nutty, mildly roasty finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium carbonation. Smooth mouthfeel.

Overall: Not bad! I’m actually happy have a readily available dry stout in bottles that isn’t nitrogen infused.

A beautiful dark dark red color. Off white head, mild carbonation. A accurate representation of the style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle: (labeled as 4.7%) Dark, reddish tinted brown with a large root-beer-like head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, roast, malt... Taste is creamy chocolate/vanilla....mild coffee bitter... light, but easily drinkable with a great flavour.

A nice brownish red body with a tan head that was fairly thick at first but then faded to a thin coating. Some lace. Aroma seemed to have a nice roasted malt base upfront and some nice subtle malt notes of chocolate and coffee. A slightly mild smoke presence in the back. Flavor was nice and well balanced roasted malts up front seemed nice. While the flavor was good it really did not wow me. I was expecting a little more strength of the roasted malts and it was moderately dry.

12oz bottle - pours dark brown with tan head and decent lacing. Nose is roasted malts and coffee. Flavor adds dark chocolate and hints of vanilla. medium body. Moderate bitterness. Easy to drink, kind of too easy. Was hoping for more from the brewer. quasi-metallic aftertaste.

Bottle. Pours a dark, dark brown/black with a light head. Nose is wonderful -- coffee, wood, a coppery overtone (which, in this case, works). Very dry and dark on the front of the palate, but finishes clean and lighter; this is no imperial stout, rather, it’s true to the style. Has some substance to the palate despite its 4.7%. Magnificent.
