AMN (127), Dublin, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 21, 2008 Good balanced IPA - proof that you don’t need to go overboard on hops to make it taste great. Looks fine; clear orange-yellow and a white head that left medium lacing. mar (1740), Rowlett, Texas, USA Sep 21, 2008 bottle thanks to dyetube. dark amber pour with a 1 finger thick white head. nice fruity hop scent. good thickness and a flavor of hops with grapefruit and a highly carbonated finish. rustbucket0873 (145), Krikville, New York, USA Sep 19, 2008 Pours a golden color, with a small head, that disappears quickly. the aroma is slight of hops, honey, and malts. The flavor is hoppy, but not over whelming. it is sweet. This is a pretty good beer kiefdog (1567), Tampa, Florida, USA Sep 19, 2008 Bottle courtesy of markwise. Pours a cloudy golden color with thin off-white head. Aroma is slightly hoppy with notes of citrus, honey, malt, grain, and grass. Flavor is much milder than an American IPA with notes of maple syrup, malt, honey, grain and hops. Medium body with a slight sweet finish. Very drinkable and not very hoppy. Nice ale. plovmand (1590), Helsinge, Denmark Sep 17, 2008 Bottle. Poured clear golden amber with a medium white head. Hoppy grassy aroma with caramel and citrus. Flavour is hoppy with hay notes as well as grapefruit and caramel. It ends up fruity and malty. Very nice IPA indeed. BeerBaron617 (306), Novi, Michigan, USA Sep 11, 2008 Bought this as part of my pick six at my local shop, It pours a lighter amber, with good head, but bad lacing. It’s flavor is lighter than I’d like to see in an IPA, but that doesn’t make it a bad beer. It’s similar to the Harpoon IPA I recently tried, in that it’s more like a good pale ale, versus an average IPA. Cheers! lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA Sep 8, 2008 Updated: Sep 9, 2008Bottle in trade from TheBeerSommelier. Thanks Matt!
Pours a light clear amber with a smallish off-white head. Smell is nice balanced hops and malt. A touch fruity, citrusy and nice. Taste is also nicely balanced with a nice crisp bitterness and citric hoppy flavor, followed by sticky sweet malt and a lightly yeasty flavor. There is a light lingering fruity bitterness. I liked this more than I expected and it is a very solid and highly drinkable IPA. DocHop (278), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Sep 8, 2008 Pours a clear honey gold with a medium white head and minimal lacing. Sweet citrus hop aroma with hints of oranges and honey. Taste is also sweet, familiar honey with a light citrus zest. The body is full and a little sticky. Finishes sweetly with some light hop bitterness (not overbearing) and a lingering glaze from the honey.
