Commercial Description:
Brooklyn East India Pale Ale, originally a summer seasonal, has been getting raves since becoming a year round offering in 1996. Garrett Oliver, a student of English brewing and beer history, uses English malts and hops to brew his EIPA in the classic, heavily-hopped style of the 19th century beers created for British soldiers serving in India.

Smooth and well balanced. OK but nothing great. Sort of pedestrian. Nothing much that would make me want another.

Fresh and hoppy nose with citrus ... etc etc. You know what? I’ve rated so many of these American IPAs now it’s pretty much a standard thing. It’s a good American IPA, that’s about it.

A little thin and watery for me. Aroma was nice and flavor was good. About an average IPA.

Clear amber, thin head. Super floral aroma with malt, citrus and fruity esters. Nice malty flavor but the hops aren’t as great in flavor as they are in the aroma. Noticeable alcohol. The bitterness is a bit rough. Not bad.

From bottle... poured deep gold with fruity aroma. Flavor is weak citrus ad mighty bitter. Decent, but not among my favorite IPAs.

I’m a fan of hoppie beers that are thick in body and this one does it for me. VeryAmerican style IPA type with your taste of citrus balanced with your hop, copper in color and no bitterness to this one for me.

12oz - Aroma of earthy hops, musty caramel malt and sour fruit. Pours transparent orange with a small head and good lacing. Flavor is pungent sour citrus hops and grassy malts. Palate is tart. Different but more sour and funky than I expect from an IPA. I will try it again for a rerate since it is possible this was past it’s prime.

Bottle 0.355 l. Bought Kvickly Hilleroed. Fresh cascade hops and fruits aroma. Colour golden amber with small white head. Aroma is more promising than the flavour. Hops bitterness is prominent with a hint of nuts.
