Commercial Description:
Brooklyn East India Pale Ale, originally a summer seasonal, has been getting raves since becoming a year round offering in 1996. Garrett Oliver, a student of English brewing and beer history, uses English malts and hops to brew his EIPA in the classic, heavily-hopped style of the 19th century beers created for British soldiers serving in India.

Bottle. Pours an amber body with off white head. Aroma is hoppy; pine, citrus, green earthy. Flavor is that very hoppy, dunno the ibus on this but its got a big bitter finish. Decent.

Bottle Nice reddish gold color with think head on pour. You can smell the hops in this beer with a little bit of citrus. Taste has hoppiness and a hint of pine. Some sweetness to the beer and very drinkable. Decent ABV percentage compared to the other Brooklyn beers, but it is not overpowering. Nice beer.

Aroma is malty and very piney-hoppy. Strong piney-hoppy aroma is a little citrusy. Dry and bitter finish. Quite straightforward, but personal anyway.

A solid English style IPA. Pours a golden amber color with foamy head. Aroma is piney hops. Flavor is well balanced with some sweet malts that help to smooth the bitter hops producing an ale that is smooth, slightly sweet and has a dry bitter finish that lasts. Nicely done IPA.

Cloudy dark golden pour with decent white head, this IPA has a pronounced hop presence but it not ridiculously bitter like so many American IPAs. The commercial description mentions that Brooklyn uses English hops and malts..they must also know how to make it better. Nice beer.

Pours a cloudy honey-golden, barely translucent, with a thick, cream-white head - very appetizing. Aroma is strongly hoppy with an evergreen hint. Flavor is very hoppy, rather but not fiercely bitter, with a whisper of fruit or perhaps spice, quite smooth.

More bitter then I expected. Crisp mouthfeel with lingering bitterness. Citeus undertones. On tap at the brewery.
