Brooklyn East India Pale Ale, originally a summer seasonal, has been getting raves since becoming a year round offering in 1996. Garrett Oliver, a student of English brewing and beer history, uses English malts and hops to brew his EIPA in the classic, heavily-hopped style of the 19th century beers created for British soldiers serving in India.

Leckeres IPA, wenig Frucht, relativ herb. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma is floral. Head is non existent and goes flat quickly. Perfumey and nutty hops. Can’t get anything other than a bitter floral hop finish. It seems smooth but the high alcohol content goes straight to the head. A very heavy IPA.

Colore dorato carico, limpido. Schiuma bianca abb pannosa e piena. Media. Carbonazione, alcol 7% si avverte. Sul pasto è ottima

Clear, amber. Moderate, white head which starts to fade away after around 5 minutes. Nose: Lots of hops, sweet maltiness, dried grass, some pine. Lovely, "promising" nose. Taste: Medium light bodied, noticeable hops bitterness, refreshing, spicy (hops again), slightly sweet and almost "fruity". Massive carbonation, frothing in the mouth. Long finish, combining a pronounced hops bitterness with a malty sweetness . Except for the nose, which is great, it´s not a very complex or complicated beer, just well made and a lot of hops. For me this is either a summer or food beer (or both, of course). Went well with brown crab au naturel.

- Look: Copper - Nose: Soft pine sugar hops; lime citrus; some caramel-y toffee malt. - Body + Finish: Oily (high-ABV), almost ginger-sweet malt; hops too. - Like a super-charged Doom Bar. Slightly more floral, and oily (higher ABV?) than its stablemate Brooklyn Lager. Lots to like about this.
