BrotherGrendel (551), San Diego (La Jolla), California, USA Sep 5, 2009 Light orange hue. Light citrus, grass and sweet bread nose. Flavor is citrus hops with malty balance and bitter finish. Crisp and clean IPA, solid all around bitterness and balance. RichJ7 (1175), Cullman, Alabama, USA Sep 4, 2009 Orange-amber with a thin white head. Nose full of Brit hops. Flavor is hoppy yet mild. Sweet, subtle. Good, but not great. williamherbert (461), Syracuse, New York, USA Sep 2, 2009 Appearance is a lighter orange IPA color with a finger of snow-white head. Hazy and somewhat cloudy. Looks quite good.
Smell is floral, aromatic citrus hops. Malt has a bitter aroma. Bittersweet with more warmth. Almost a Belgiany harshness to the scent.
Taste is a solid bitter, but floral hop flavor. Bitter on the back of the tongue. Sweeter on the swallow than a typical IPA. Some bitter fruit and spicy orange also comes thorugh.
Feels thick and milky. A little chunky. Leaves a bitter film. Spicy on the tongue. Bubbly and fizzy. Overall it’s a bitter, spicy IPA. Like a hoppy farmhouse or Saison to me. A bit much. Hopper (277), San Antonio, Texas, USA Sep 2, 2009 This is an English style IPA. This is not an American IPA, so if your looking for a hopped out flavorful IPA this is not it. AskForJenny (627), Ontario, New York, USA Aug 28, 2009 12oz - Nice pour, color and malt structure. There was no real nose. A lingering dirt/tree bark taste on end was distracting and ruined it for me. JediMindTricks (240), Hampton, Virginia, USA Aug 24, 2009 Taste tickling grapefruit pine hops ,malty, bit fruity as well. Well balanced not too agressive peter48er (127), Liverpool, Merseyside, England Aug 23, 2009 Full of hops, citrus flavours and a biting bitterness. Poured from the bottle a light brown colour with a creamy head which lasted well down the glass. A very acceptable version of this iconic style. illteez (11), Annandale, New Jersey, USA Aug 22, 2009 A lighter style ipa that is well balanced. Very strong citrus smell and taste and light on the palate. Finished very smooth with a pleasant hops character.
