COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn East India Pale Ale, originally a summer seasonal, has been getting raves since becoming a year round offering in 1996. Garrett Oliver, a student of English brewing and beer history, uses English malts and hops to brew his EIPA in the classic, heavily-hopped style of the 19th century beers created for British soldiers serving in India.

I had this on tap at the Underground Tap and Grill in Edmonton. Pours hazy amber with a finger of off white cream head. Tight small bubbles in the head which subsides fairly quickly. The aroma for me consisted mostly of passion fruit and orange cream soda with lots of sweet candy and floral notes. The taste was mostly a fruity malt with a peachy bitter aftertaste. Nice mouthfeel, not too dry. Overall, enjoyed this beer.

Bottle - Grapefruit hop notes with some malt in the background. Pale clear copper with a think white head. Resinous and bitter with orange notes. I much prefer this on tap and will rerate when I get the opportunity.

Aroma av humle och uttorkade diskhandske. Väldigt snäll beska. Kort eftersmak. Inte mycket Bang for buck på denna ipan.

Intensiver Hopfenton im Geruch, Zitrus, Kiefernharz, Wachholder. Antrunk süßlich, Grapefruit, Mandarine. Mitte Grapefruitnote und hefig, gewürzig. Bitter-trockener Abgang, moderat würzig-malzig. Gut.

Wierd nose. Kinda bittersweet cocoa. Mouthfeel somewhat thick. Crystal clear brew. Decent brew taste but the hops seemed strange.

0,33l bottle from Systembolaget. Pours clear light amber with a medium head. Aroma is malts with some fruits. Flavor is malts with fruits and a well balanced hoppy finish. Very solid IPA. No surprises and no disappointments.

In fairness, this is not my favorite style. Nice aroma, very strong aroma and taste of hops, too bitter for my taste buds. Not bad for its class though.

Citrus and tropical fruit nose. Medium hop level with decent citrus and floral undertones. Finish is smooth bitterness. Solid beer but nothing amazing

Bottle. Pours a clear copper body with a one finger fizzy off-white head that slowly faded to a thin film. The nose is certainly in the English style for sure. Lots of floral English hops, but still a good bit of caramel and toasted malt below with a slight perfumy note. The flavor is not really up my alley too much. Lots of english hops with a moderate level of bitterness over a fairly dry brewed tea like malt base. I think that I prefer a little bit of citrusy brightness in my IPAs if they’re going to be this bitter. Light to medium bodied with soft fizzy carbonation. Not a bad beer as far as how it’s made, just a beer that I don’t really care for all that much.
