Commercial Description:
Brooklyn East India Pale Ale, originally a summer seasonal, has been getting raves since becoming a year round offering in 1996. Garrett Oliver, a student of English brewing and beer history, uses English malts and hops to brew his EIPA in the classic, heavily-hopped style of the 19th century beers created for British soldiers serving in India.

Pours a light copper colour with a small white head. Nose is lightly hoppy and piney. Palate is medium and crisp, quite refreshing. Flavour is more of the piney hops and light sugary malt notes. Decent IPA.

Light hoppy flavor. Amber color with white head. Though that the light hop flavor would be followed up with a nice malty base, yet that did not happen. Not much else to be had from this one.

Couldn’t wait to tuck into this one and I’m not disappointed. Clear and sparkling amber pour blanketed with creamy froth. Musty, petally aroma oozing rose, tangerine, and pollen-heavy Turkish Delight perfume. sweaty, encloaking and spliff-like as it warms. Flavour follows through with a wickedly dry quinine blast of hop bitterness and overripe satsuma. Listen closely and you can here the bees humming. Big,floral, fruity, lip-smackingly hopped ale drinking itself straight into my top 50. This is beer. (948417-4.2) UPDATE Honey and marmalade on soggy buttered white toast. Fragrant and tasty, but too sweet for me these days, and sliding out of my top 50....The Dog has got the edge on this one.

Flaske. Flot IPA med klassisk ravfarve. Lækker duft af humle, som går igen i smagen med en god balance til malten. I det hele taget en rigtig fin øl i en klasse som ellers ikke er kendt for den store balance.

It has a weird aroma of flowers and hops. the flavor is also similar it had a weird taste of some flowers or something and some hops. Better than a lot of commercial brews, but not really something that you would drink simply to enjoy the beer itself.

Pours a very slightly clouded amber with no head. Nose is sweet with apricot. Really like cut up dried apricots. Flavor is sweet with a bitter tone underlying. Nice and smooth and even, though I am going to say it might be a bit too sweet - even though I am no expert on the EIPAs. Feel is good. Low amount of bubble on the tongue but a slightly thicker liquid experience on the tongue. Definitely drinkable. Could go a few on these easily, though the thicker syrupy nature might be a turn off to some after a few.

12 ounce bottle from SS Summer 07
Hues of gold and orange with a white head that left a little bit of lace.
The aroma is very herbal and earthy. A pleasant dose of biscuits and toast. Some citrus rind as well.
The malt flavor starts off as biscuits, then quickly puches you with bitterness and that lasts well after the swallow.
The palate is sort of thin, and there’s a ton of carbonation. Sort of dry finish.
A fine beer, but not a fave.
