Carbonation is very low and kind of a boring thing to look at in the glass. Atypical IPA with much more malt content than hop prominence. I taste licorice and syrup along with a background of english style hopping. Seems like it would be good on tap with the English bitter style. Finish is slightly bitter and lasts. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 15, 2007 12 oz. Bottle: pours a amber dark gold with an off-white head, malt sweet, flower and some pine scents, caramel fragrances, sweet, malt and hop citrus flavors, taste of some toasted malt, hop bite with a flavor of grapefruit, faint fruit flavor, not a lot of pine scents or taste like the other IPAs I have had, malt sweetness is balanced pretty well with bitterness, hop bitterness persists into the finish, this brew falls along the lines of a English IPA recipe. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 11, 2007 Great example of an IPA! Nothing outstanding about this beer but still very good. It poured a light copper color with a very minimal white head. I love the smell of this beer. The flavor contains all the usual IPA suspects: nice hop profile, pine, grapefruit. This beer was much better than I expected it to be. obguthr (1010), Poquoson, Virginia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 9, 2007 Hoppy aroma. Dingy copper color, medium head, good lacing Well hopped ringed with vanilla. Finish is quality hops, but lingers a bit too long. Wow! NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 7, 2007 The aroma is full of hops with light pine, citrus and heavier floral notes and some caramel malt accents. The body is a clear copper/orange and holds a diminishing off white head. Nicely hoppy and bitter with an ample malt base that leans toward caramel. The hops are citrus, pine, floral and I get some light plae white fruit notes toward the finish. The finish is quite bitter, but the body is light and quaffable, something I prefer tot he many thick IPA’s coming out these days. rocbyter (908), Waterbury, Connecticut, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 5, 2007 Piny and floral hop aroma. Orange color with no head. Taste starts mild and finishes with moderate hop bitterness. wingman333 (236), San Antonio, Texas, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jun 5, 2007 Bottle...crisp, well-hopped, velvety IPA. Apple notes prevail. A little tastier than the mainstream IPA’s but not as brutal as the double IPA varieties. A "hoppy medium," to be exact. I like all the Brokklyn products and this one is no exception.
