brewslurp (9), Switzerland does not count Aug 3, 2009 Great historical example of a British IPA. I’ve always liked this beer. Nice head that fades. Citrus, piney, fruity, grassy aroma. Same in the flavor with a nice well balanced malt back bone. Not too heavily carbonated. A very nice IPA. Garett Oliver really knows what he’s doing. Bullit (1300), Glasgow, Scotland Aug 3, 2009 Bottle from Peckhams. Copper colour, white head. Aroma of pine hops and fruits. Flavour has grapefruit, citrus and caramel. Long bitter and crisp finish. Nice IPA. bobman006 (38), New Jersey, USA Aug 1, 2009 Bottle. Clear copper with small, disappearing head. Grassy and fruity aroma with citrus notes. Floral and earthy taste with strawberry, apricot, chestnut, caramel. Light carbonation, full mouthfeel. Good EIPA. jezmez68 (332), Chesterton, Indiana, USA Jul 31, 2009 It’s EAST India Pale Ale, so you don’t get it confused with NORTH India Pale Ale, which is made with seals. Or something. I don’t know, it’s an English IPA, and really, that style is pretty boring to me. I guess it’s a good example of the EIPA, but that’s pretty much a below average beer to me. It’s got drinkability. jmulv (82), Rensselaer, New York, USA Jul 22, 2009 First off, this review is a tad biased - great memories of this beer at the brewery Friday night happy hour. But still, the beer is excellent for a single IPA - citrusy, smooth, crisp, hoppy, and a little bitter. It has a complex taste without being overbearing - a delight for any occasion. Drink on! MereLikesBeer (153), Royal Oak, Michigan, USA Jul 17, 2009 I shared a bottle of this with BeerBaron617 this evening. I didn’t really have any expectations, as Brooklyn has yet to wow me with a tasty beverage. It poured a nice clear light amber color with a tight off-white head. It has a nice sweet hoppy aroma that is a bit different from typical American craft brewed IPA’s. It tastes a bit different from the IPA’s I am accustomed to, a bit more malty, a bit sweeter, but it still has that bitter taste to it. Overall it’s a pretty tasty beverage, but I think i’ll try some other Brooklyn’s before trying this again. Quack-Duck (3130), Bodensee/Schwarzwald, Germany Jul 17, 2009 bottle, Dankeschön Allen! Clear amber colour, small and quickly diminishing white head. Fruity hop aroma that is quite promising. Full-bodies, intensively malty with hints of roasted malts, herbs and caramel. There are some lovely citrusy hop flavours present, but they seem to be killed by a overpowering alcohol flavour. What a pity, I would love to have enjoyed the hops more in the beer. hallinghansen (263), Odense SV, Denmark Jul 15, 2009 Bottle. Clear golden body, with a small a small white head. Aroma is grapefruit, spice and grass. Flavor is also grapefruit, citrus and some spices.
