Commercial Description:
Brooklyn East India Pale Ale, originally a summer seasonal, has been getting raves since becoming a year round offering in 1996. Garrett Oliver, a student of English brewing and beer history, uses English malts and hops to brew his EIPA in the classic, heavily-hopped style of the 19th century beers created for British soldiers serving in India.

Good aroma. Mouthfeel medium. Complex flavor profile, with nuts and light fruits. A bit of a soapyness that detracts. Finishes with very little bitterness. A decent, flavorful IPA.

Aroma of slightly flowery hops. Clear, golden-copper coloured with thin, off-white head. Taste is bitter, sweet, hoppy, slightly citric. Easy goin’ beer.

Clear amber beer with a low, fading head. Floral and piney hops, with some sweet grass in the aroma. The flavour is nice and just to the point: Medium hopped (citrus and pines) and with a cleansing bitterness. A little fizzy in the mouth but nice!

Decent ipa from brooklyn. Very bitter and hoppy with citrus undertones. Not too complex.

Bottle @ pub. Pours a cloudy amber with hoppy aroma. Unedged palate with a good bitter flavour with a bit of toffee. Sweet and dry finish.

on tap @ the tasting room @ Brooklyn Brewery. Decent hop flavor, medium citrus. Ok but I prefer American style IPA’s to English. Prefer the Blast! to this one

12oz bottle. Relatively clear yet sedimented. Orange amber hue. Tight ring of white head. Bright citrus grapefruit aromas with a touch of sweet cinnamon. Medium bodied with a crisp palate. Good citrus flavors . Mildly dry and slightly bitter. Lighter IPA. Good flavors, but no real bang.
