COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn East India Pale Ale, originally a summer seasonal, has been getting raves since becoming a year round offering in 1996. Garrett Oliver, a student of English brewing and beer history, uses English malts and hops to brew his EIPA in the classic, heavily-hopped style of the 19th century beers created for British soldiers serving in India.

Resinous grapefruit with some slick floral moments, sweet smelling on occasion and astringent almost all the time. Pillowy hazy gold, nice pillowy white head, immediate lacing. Some lemony qualities, orange, some rind, there is a certain lightness to this, sweet orange rind flavor... The bitterness evades your palette as you adjust to the beer. Very good. A new personal favorite.

Bottle. Light amber/orange body. Medium head. Aroma is quite stale with hay and some dried tangerine peel. Light but sticky mouthfeel. Taste has old orange juice and some flat and dry bitterness without the fresh and vibrant zestiness that is found in good IPAs. Soapy finish. Not very good.

Clear amber colour, white foamy head. Pine and grapefruit hoppy aroma, crisp and dry bitter hoppy taste with a firm caramel malty backbone. English style IPA, not as floral and fruity as its American counterpart. Medium body, medium carbonation, oily mouthfeel.

More malty than many IPAs, but this is an Anglophile beer. I like the citrus nose, clear appearance with light lacing. But the taste has become less palatable with time. The person who said bubblegum was on the right track. It’s worth a try, but it’s not your new best friend.

0,33L bottle, BB 13.08.2015. Pours clear light amber with off-white head. The head stays for some time. Aroma is grass, malt, citrus. Flavor is sweet, caramel, citrus. Overall: disappointing for an American IPA.

330ml bottle. Clear golden color. Medium size, white head, stays. Perfume, grassy, malty aroma. Grassy, malty, raw taste. Malty rubber in aftertaste.

On tap. Pours a slightly hazy Amber with light head. Aromas of fruit candy, rubber and toasted malts. Flavors carry same with a bit of grass and perfume. Nice enough.

Pours golden with no head. Some cut grass to the aroma with the smallest hint of citrus but not much. Taste is quite sweet at first that then quickly becomes bitter. Not the best but ok.

Good but shy floral aroma, reminds a bit of bubblegum with some notes of caramel on the back. Tastes quite medium bitter and lightly sweet. Palate is somwhat fizzy with medium body. Good IPA, pretty classic but moderate for american standards.
