COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn East India Pale Ale, originally a summer seasonal, has been getting raves since becoming a year round offering in 1996. Garrett Oliver, a student of English brewing and beer history, uses English malts and hops to brew his EIPA in the classic, heavily-hopped style of the 19th century beers created for British soldiers serving in India.

Pours a clear golden yellow, with a thin white head. Aromas of lemon zest and pine sol. Flavor is packed with earthy hops with some subtle caramel malts coming through. Overall not bad but nothing memorable.

355ml bottle. Pours hazy amber with thin soapy head. Aroma is of hops, citrus fruits and malts. Taste is very citrussy and floral. I really enjoyed this. Perhaps rating it so highly as I had it in Guatemala and compared to the lagers here, it was a revelation

Pour amber copper body, compact lasting head, aroma is caramel and sweet, medium bodied and medium to low carbed, not lots of bitter but good hop flavors combined with caramel notes.

Pours a golden copper color with minimal to no head. Aroma is hops, citrus (grapefruit), and some maltiness. Taste is malty up front, far more so than I expected (maybe that English malt?) and a hoppy finish, but not bitingly hoppy. Hop heads won’t love it, but people that enjoy lighter IPAs and pale ales should give it a whirl. Very refreshing.

Bottle from a store in Paris. The hop is at work and offers a lot of fruity aromas with some malt notes in the back. It pours amber colored with a small but fine sunstaining head. The attack is quite hoppy which developes into a fruity flavor with some sweet maltiness in the middle and a pleasently bitter finish.

Quite an amber variety of an ipa, sorry, rips - some malty richness but still has enough freshness to match. Good with sushi.

Light amber pour. Lightly floral and citrusy aroma. Not super intense or bitter, nice balance. Good use of Euro hops. Decent.

Bottle, 355ml. Pours clear dark golden-orange (really beautiful color) with a almost non-existing foamy head. Strong scent of hops and some sweet honey. Mouth feel is tangy and crisp, carbonation is soft to medium but feels stronger with the bitter hops. Tastes mostly bitter, mild sweetness. Flavors is strongly of bitter hops, very slightly citrusy, very floral, honey flavors and some herbal tones. Some very slight roasted malt. When sipped slowly, you can feel sweet honey and some floral-fruity (apple?) tones, along with some alcoholic tones (not in a bad way). When swallowed straight, strong, refreshing, crisp and bitter. This is a good IPA, definitely not boring and yet it felt somewhat flat, I guess that the hops flavor is simply too dominant, and perhaps could use some sweetness. A good beer, but not my cup of tea.
