Brooklyn East India Pale Ale, originally a summer seasonal, has been getting raves since becoming a year round offering in 1996. Garrett Oliver, a student of English brewing and beer history, uses English malts and hops to brew his EIPA in the classic, heavily-hopped style of the 19th century beers created for British soldiers serving in India.

Golden, obviously clear. Nice foam. Scent of some hop without strong characteristics, also a bit of malt. The body is a bit thin, also not enough bitterness. Despite this, it conceals the alcohol well. The proof is the only Indian thing about this ale. Not worth noticing, but better then a lot of other industrial ales.

Beautiful light brown colour. Has a light caramel flavour. I was hoping for a more fruity taste.

Clear orange body, medium white head. Aroma of citrus, orange peal and light caramel notes. Flavour of citrus, orange, light caramel notes. Bitterness in the background. Medium bitter and dry finish. Not an hop bomb but quite good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

355cc bottle. Pours Clear Orange with thin white off head. It is a bit citrussy, floral, grassy/earthy and spicy. Malty flavour is almost like a premium lager. Some caramel sweetness in the midle but mostly bitter. Nice overall
