Brooklyn East India Pale Ale, originally a summer seasonal, has been getting raves since becoming a year round offering in 1996. Garrett Oliver, a student of English brewing and beer history, uses English malts and hops to brew his EIPA in the classic, heavily-hopped style of the 19th century beers created for British soldiers serving in India.

Bottle into pint glass, coppery-golden color with off-white head. Aroma of crystal malt and light floral/citrus hops. Taste is more hoppy then aroma led on, stonger citrus/pine/herbal/grass hop notes and light caramel malt. Medium body, low carbonation, slick with bitter finish. More the English malt-leaning style per the bottle description, balanced and sessionable. Good.

Toffee, fruits, grains and hint of pine in the aroma. Amber with a off white head. Medium sweet and medium to heavy bitter. Light body with a lively carbonation. Overall a nice standard IPA.

Dark amber body with low head. Aroma has medium caramel, toasty, nutty notes with light woody background. Taste has high earthy bitterness right upfront with light citrus sweetness, some hebral notes, floral, pine character. Astringent after taste. Body is full, high carbonation.

355ml can, pours golden orange brown with a small white head, pours clear. Aroma is caramel & toffee malt, with orange peel and floral notes. Light body, solid carbonation with a balanced crisp finish. Not a hop bomb, well crafted, tasty.

Veering towards lagerish malts. Lightish body, moderate booze. Dry medium bitter end. Unremarkable but ok.

pours clear bright golden with a nice off-whtie head, some retention and alcing. pine, resin, candied oranges, toasted and caramel malts, some sweetness, brown sugar, some danky fruits. moderate carbonation, medium body - oily and a bit sticky, some booze, short to medium long grassy-spicy-citrusy-piney finish. a bit sweet for my liking but still decently crafted. just not my cup of tea. o-k.
