Brooklyn East India Pale Ale, originally a summer seasonal, has been getting raves since becoming a year round offering in 1996. Garrett Oliver, a student of English brewing and beer history, uses English malts and hops to brew his EIPA in the classic, heavily-hopped style of the 19th century beers created for British soldiers serving in India.

I was hopping fro better aroma. It leaves a bitter grassy after taste not bad for the style. Nice look and palete. Sure i was expecting more but its a decent IPA anyway

Can from Appellation Wines. Pours clear amber, thin white head. Nose of grapefruit, banana, pine resin. Orange peel bitterness on the palate, hoppy, slightly sweet.

Bottle in the Capital Grille, NYC. Colour unknown, Id guess on the deeper side of amber. A balanced IPA, quite malty with a decent hop level of bitterness. Certainly didnt feel 6.9%. Well made but theres a certain house taste of these Brooklyn beers which makes them all feel a bit the same and it isnt my favourite. This beer would probably be better out of a cask.

330ml can: Pours a clear amber with good off white head. Tastes of pine resin and slight citrus. Overall a nice IPA.

Versa di arancione scuro quasi ramato con schiuma bianca quasi inconsistente. Aroma fruttato con note marcate di luppolo. Idem in bocca dove risulta molto fresca. Finale lungo e piacevolmente amaro. Insomma una IPA pi che discreta e soprattutto molto beverina...va gi che un piacere.

Diminishing head, but lasting throughout the glass. Less pronounced flavor, malty and fruity. Bitterness becoming thinner, going to sweet, lasting finish. Very light, although alcohol can be felt.

I do not wax on poetically about beer but I do know the quality of a beer once tasted. This review is not about my tastes but reinforces the numbers, which are arbitrary.

Clear amber with small off white head that quickly recedes to a film. Biscuity malt aroma, with some marmalade notes. The taste has a toasty malt character, grassy and grapefruit citrus hop tang, a little marmalade. Light to medium bodied, reasonably low carbonation and a little acidic bite without any sourness. Solid if unspectacular IPA.
