Nice winey sweetness that rolls nicely over palate. Citrusey notes and lingering hoppy finish. A wonderful example of a classic IPA. A classic! RichJ7 (1175), Cullman, Alabama, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 17, 2007 Light floral hop aroma and a medicinal smell. Light copper with medium head. The palate is medium and supports tastes of nice caramel malt and a light floral hop flavor. Even bitterness with very little aftertaste--but not very hoppy at all for an IPA. dm9831 (1168), Monee, Illinois, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 1/5 | 9/20 | Mar 6, 2008 clear amber color, quickly dissipating white head. aroma of orange, grapefruit; hops and citrus. i caught a mild citrus flavor, but not much more. too mild to be recommended as an ipa. kinda water mouth feel. not much happening here. porterhouse (1166), Alna, Maine, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 15, 2006 (Bottle (best before 4/07) from <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/maine/augusta/l target=blank>Lou’s Beverage Barn) A little light on the palate but a nice-tasting IPA...Pours clear light amber with about a finger and a half of fluffy biscuit head. Aroma is mostly flowery hops and a bit of breadiness. Mouthfeel is pretty smooth but kind of light. A few traces of lacing. Tastes of medium bitterness underlaying the flowery hops and perhaps some fruitiness. Perhaps some faint caramel and bread. Has kind of a light feel to it but seems like a good refined IPA (but probably well-filtered). Goodgrief (1161), Middletown, Delaware, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 11, 2007 May 2005 - Poured nice copper color with medium sized head which dissipated rather quickly. Smelled fruity and hoppy. The taste...I like this one. For an IPA, the hop presence was very well balanced. Had a tangy edge to it and the alcohol taste was present, but in this case, was nice. Not being a big IPA guy, this is my kind of IPA. IMtheOptimator (1161), Bethel, Connecticut, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 4, 2006 Poured a clear copper with a fizzy off-white head. Aroma of orange juice, dish detergent, some piney hops. Taste is dry with some light toffee, pine needles, soap, and some earthiness. Medium fizzy body. Not sure why an American brewer would chose to do an English-style IPA, as this is unequivocally inferior to most American IPA’s I’ve had.
