COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn East India Pale Ale, originally a summer seasonal, has been getting raves since becoming a year round offering in 1996. Garrett Oliver, a student of English brewing and beer history, uses English malts and hops to brew his EIPA in the classic, heavily-hopped style of the 19th century beers created for British soldiers serving in India.

Bottle. Light amber, clear color. Hoppy but not overwhelming on the palate. Good taste but not a huge fan. Average aroma, not hoppy smelling.

Final doce e amargo.

Aromas of fresh lemon mixed with resin, very bright. Pours golden with small white head. Taste is slightly sour, lemonade-ish with medium bitterness. Average body and carbonation. Very refreshing. Great for summer.

Low on pine for the style and heavily loaded with somewhat oversweet fruit. Hops are notable but less prominent than in the average IPA.

Bottle at home. Clear deep golden pour, almost no head. Aroma of fruity hops, caramel malts, slightly spicy and a bit of yeast. Flavor is slightly bitter, slightly sweet and a bit thin. Decent balance, thin body.

Clear amber color with medium white head. Aroma is citrusy, with a marked malty/resiny background, with also caramel and grapefruit. Light to medium body. Taste has some grapefruity and piney character, but again has a strong resiny and malty presence. Regular IPA, maybe a bit sweet in my opinion, but is good though.

Bottle 35,5cl. Am er/orand with a small off white head. Surprisingly was that this has not an intense hoppy flavour as I would have expected, but a subtle one with some malt as well, not very strong. Medium rich (read well malted) and quite a bit of bitter hop. Nice long bitter finish. Not the exotic fruit of flower style, but pure bitterness. I can i agine that this is not everyones friend, bht if you are into pure bitter beer as it originally was meant to be, then this is the one. I like it a lot
