COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn East India Pale Ale, originally a summer seasonal, has been getting raves since becoming a year round offering in 1996. Garrett Oliver, a student of English brewing and beer history, uses English malts and hops to brew his EIPA in the classic, heavily-hopped style of the 19th century beers created for British soldiers serving in India.

12 oz. bottle poured into tulip glass. Opaque brownish-orange color. Medium white head which dissipates quickly with no lacing. Very citrus-y, floral scent. Similar taste, though not as strong as the aroma, hoppy with a touch of malt. Smooth, crisp feel with good amount of carbonation. Overall, a good beer, though far from the best IPA I’ve tried.

Robe dorée, légèrement trouble. Arômes légers de houblon, prune, agrumes, floral, résineux. Carbonatation assez fine. Longue en bouche. Bonne IPA.

Pours amber-orange with a one finger off white head which fades to nice lacing. Aroma is of pine, caramel, sweet malts, bready malts, toffee, and some light citrus. Taste is about the same as the aroma. Has a medium body with a semi creamy mouthfeel and slightly dry, semi bitter, medium-long, well balanced finish. Overall, a decently tasty, east coast/English style IPA.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Orange on the nose, and burnt rubber? Orange initial flavour then metallic and a bit of fizz. Not great.

Bottle. Light amber/orange body. Medium head. Aroma is quite stale with hay and some dried tangerine peel. Light but sticky mouthfeel. Taste has old orange juice and some flat and dry bitterness without the fresh and vibrant zestiness that is found in good IPAs. Soapy finish. Not very good.
