3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 bmerz (229) - New York, USA - MAY 26, 2012
Can. Not bad. Maybe better than on tap despite being blocks from the brewery. Something hard and metallic on the palate sides and back doesn’t appeal but perhaps that is intentional. Gritty otherwise. A nice tropical and sweet floral aroma carries into the taste with some hard grain character taking over quickly. Doesn’t remind me of a country British pub ipa but i trust Mr. Oliver
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Scipio (183) - Vernon Hills, Illinois, USA - MAY 25, 2012
Pours a bright golden orange with a good white head. Aroma is a bit light, yet very nice. It consists of pineapple, toffee, a bit of orange, and peach. Nothing to complex. Taste is very refreshing. It is mainly the pineapple and peach, with the toffee being underneath and more of an aftertaste. Not very hoppy, much more smooth. This isn't anything out of this world, but it is very tasty.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 jbruner (124) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - MAY 24, 2012
Pours a golden amber on tap with little white head and decent lacing. Smell is slight citrus and typical english malt. Taste is very mild, light citrus and hops. Well balanced and easy on the palate. Nothing terribly remarkable, but not bad.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 LtDan (1484) - Los Angeles County, California, USA - MAY 22, 2012
From 12 oz. Can
Appearance: Pours an amber gold with a very small cap of white.
Aroma: Faint pineapple, toffe like malt.
Taste: Fruity beginning. Crushed pineapple, sweet malt, euro spicy hops but a backround note.
Mouthfeel:Full bodied with modest carbonation.
Overall: While nothing like the IPA’s I seek out/enjoy, this is a tasty beer. I wish I was able to compare this to what was brewed back then, so until my time machine gets out of the shop, I will take Brooklyn’s word for it.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 MadRobin (172) - Silver Spring, USA - MAY 21, 2012
Poured from 12 oz. bottle at at Quarry House Tavern in Silver Spring, MD.
Clear, sparkling amber with 4-finger buff colored head and good lacing.
Aroma earthy, floral hops, light fruit and a big whiff of biscuit malt that faded as the head settled.
Taste starts with sweet caramel and lightly toasted bready malt before grassy, citric, earthy hops kick in. Definitely well balanced, but the balance of flavors leaves me wanting better flavor in either the hops or the malt. It's OK, but unexciting.
Medium body and light carbonation yield a somewhat slick mouthfeel. Slightly astringent finish.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 rauchbierlover (202) - ITALY - MAY 20, 2012
Body is orange/amber with a minimal flat white head. Aroma of pines, resin. Taste is pretty the same. Too bitter, even for an IPA. Not well balanced IMO
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Lowenbrau (344) - SPAIN - MAY 19, 2012
355ml bottle. Herbal aromas. Bright gold, hazy, with some white head, vanishing and some lacing.Taste is herbal, grassy, not too bitter, balanced. A bit crispy. Enjoyable, but there are better IPA´s out there.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20 NachlamSie (2136) - Tennessee, USA - MAY 18, 2012
6-pack from Midtown $5.99!?! I’ll take that. Pours a cloudy orange with a good head. I am pleased by the aroma. Heavy citrus, wood, grass, melon. Translates well to the flavor also. It’s solidly hoppy and clean. Smooth, straightforward citrus. Finish is quick and almost juicy. Notes of orange, a dash of rosemary and rind. I am surprised to see this is comprised of British ingredients, though I suppose the flavor profile is a little different than a typical American IPA. I really like what Brooklyn has done here. This is a bold, full flavored, hoppy beer.
2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 BlackIPA (326) - Rochester, New York, USA - MAY 18, 2012
Pours a clear orange amber color with a 3 finger head consisting of fine bubbles. Some spicy hop notes in the aroma I’m guessing there’s some Kent in there? Anyway, The taste doesn’t quite deliver on the promise the aroma made. Slightly hoppy, slightly boozy, quite balanced on the malts. A decent but unremarkable brew, I continue to lose faith in Brooklyn Brewery, a brewery that was once my favorite.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 The Etruscan (400) - Tuscany, ITALY - MAY 18, 2012
Off white creamy head. Light amber colour. Aroma is hoopy, spicy with light fruity (pear) notes. Flavor is moderately malty with fruity (green apricot) and light caramel and hoppy tones, ending in a spicy and hoppy finish. Light bodied.
