COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Combining Canadian and American malts with a large proportion of un-malted white winter wheat, Fiat Lux starts with a Belgian witbier inspiration. A blend of Pacific Northwest hops, a little lime peel and a dash of Indian coriander brings a bright blast of citrusy aromatic sunshine, while German Perle hops supply a nice big zap of refreshing bitterness.

Pours a very light gold. Cloves and orange peel aroma. More strong cloves and orange peel on the palate with a strangely mineral finish. Soft mouth feel with very little carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Blue Ribbon. Really nice hoppy farmhouse ale, kind of boozy but totally quaffable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tangerine, pineapple, and the obligatory coriander aroma. Much fruitier than spicy. Hazy amber, effervescent, thick yellow head. Coriandet and grapefruit peel. Orange flt midpalate with mild toast and grains in the finish. Weird wit, but damn delicious. Refteshing.

Draft served in a pint glass at Senate. Pours a clear gold color with a small white head. Aroma of orange peel, earthy hops, sweet malts, wheat, and coriander. Flavor of wheat, sweet and bready malts, tangerine, pepper, coriander, and earthy hops. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a sweet, mildly spicy mouthfeel. Nice twist on the style, with more hop character than usual.

Draft sample. Pours hazy golden color with an average creamy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate to heavy earthy hop, spice and yeast aroma. Medium body to a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium spice bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of an average duration. My expectations where met.

Clear golden with a whitish head and heavy lacing. Aroma of flowers, spice, medicine, wheat, and citrus. Taste is sharp and herbal, yeasty, nicely hopped (very bitter for this style) and a little sweet. Medium bodied, dry, and smooth. Not bad.

Location: Draft at Bierkraft, 9/8/12

Aroma: The nose has yeast, wheat, a good amount of spice, and some banana notes
Appearance: This one pours a slightly unclear golden-orange color with a white head
Flavor: The taste is medium sweet, with wheat and banana, and some spice/clove for balance
Palate: The body is medium, though it leans light, it drinks decently, with a spicy tingly, and a good finish
Overall Impression: I thought this was a pretty interesting beer, but it was not a real standout for me, just solid. I’d certainly drink it again, and many breweries could do worse then to have this as the wheat in their line-up.
