COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Most beer was once smoky and we think smoke is still delicious. Brooklyn Fire & Ice is a robust porter that wraps beechwood smoke around a silky core of oatmeal and roasted malts. Wood is cut in the beechwood forests surrounding Bamberg, Germany, and our maltsters use it to dry their smoked malts, which form the basis of this beer. Together with a blend of roasted malts, it creates a beer that is gently smoky and beguilingly chocolaty, with notes of coffee and caramel.

On draft. Aroma of molasses and applewood. Flavors of apple, raisin, caramel and faint smoke. One of those rauchbiers that is more sticky-sweet than roasty smoky.

UPDATED: FEB 22, 2014 Smoked indeed. The smell hits you in your face like a nice smoked sausage. Medium body and bitterness. Some hints of roasted malts. My first smoked porter. I would suggest having it or similar at least once.

Nearly black with a fluffy tan head. Aroma of smoked meat and wood. The taste is smooth and well integrated smoke and roasty malts. Smooth, medium body with some dryness and soft carbonation. Good, but maybe a little too mild.

Really nice one here. Smoke blends with the rest of the beer yet it is still the forefront.

I really enjoyed this one. On tap at Oblivion. Nose is roast and smoked meats. Big chocolate and roast everywhere. Big tan head and a black body. Creamy mouth-feel. Very nicely down beer with a good mix of coffee, chocolate, and roast/smoked notes. Nice stuff.

This beer is very smooth for the style. The smoke gives it a bit of bacon but it doesn’t overwhelm. The finish is quite nice, smoky yet smooth.

Keg @The Vintage, Leith. Pours almost black with a little brown tinge. On the nose you get a gentle, smoke/roast/burnt smell. On the palate you get smoked jarlsberg cheese alone with some chocolate, a touch of sweetness at the end lends itself to perhaps some lactose being in the recipe as well.

Keg at the vintage... Deep black... Thin tan lacing... Soft chocolate.. Soft smoke nose... Tooo fizzy... Rich malts... Dark roast... Light woody smoke... But massive co2 prickle

This one poured a darker brown with a beige head. Aroma was of light smoke, medium roasted malts and some dark chcoolate. Flavor was mainly smoke and roast, a simple tasty smoked porter.
