COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Most beer was once smoky and we think smoke is still delicious. Brooklyn Fire & Ice is a robust porter that wraps beechwood smoke around a silky core of oatmeal and roasted malts. Wood is cut in the beechwood forests surrounding Bamberg, Germany, and our maltsters use it to dry their smoked malts, which form the basis of this beer. Together with a blend of roasted malts, it creates a beer that is gently smoky and beguilingly chocolaty, with notes of coffee and caramel.

Aroma of iron, charcoal, and coffee. Pours black with a medium white fluffy head. Taste is roasty with coffee and very dark chocolate with notes of campfire. Not too meaty for a smoke beer but certainly roasty. Not bad.

Draft. Medium brown head. Black in color. Aroma of bacon and campfire. Not much more goin on in the flavor. Really kinda just smokey so it can be smokey. Flavor is short of the aroma. And that was only two dimensional. Would probably not get another glass

Very good pour, nice coco aroma, velvety mouthfeel, & very smooth! Chocolate taste throughout w/out any typical bitterness you find in most porters. Very drinkable and tasty - great beer!

On tap for growler fills at Half Time. Pours a deep brown to black with a thin to medium sized beige head. soft chocolate and a hint of smoke on the nose. Medium bodied, sweet chocolate into a little bit of smoke. Gentle campfire notes, never over powering. Lingering smoke finish with some roast bitterness. Tasty.

The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: Pours black with a tan head. Aroma is dark chocolate and smoked malts. Taste is pretty similar to the aroma. The smoked malts are quite tasty. Meaty and bacon taste all over the place. Chocolate melds right in. Fun stuff.

On tap at the Common Table. Black pour with a tan head. The aroma and flavor have a lot of smoke and ash notes as well as roasted malt and light chocolate. The smoke is very well done and really stands out. Medium to thick mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Draft - nose is vanilla and what I thought was milk chocolate. Smoky and toasted malts. Me likes.
