mjs (1446), Helsinki, Finland Oct 29, 2009 (Draught at BA’s BBF’09, I suppose it was this beer although the it was labelled as Glacier) Poured golden and hazy with large white head. Distictively hoppy and somewhat sour aroma. Medium bodied palate with medium carbonation. Tasted of sourness, hops, fruitiness, sweetness and grapefruit in taste. Hoppy and fruity aftertaste. blipp (1631), Newark, New Jersey, USA Oct 25, 2009 Draft. Pours unclear yellow with a thin head. Light spicy aroma with some fruity notes. Typical saison spice character with a light sweetness and a dry finish. Solid. CUJO (339), Brooklyn, New York, USA Oct 6, 2009 RnH: Pours party cloudy, pale yellow, green tinge... one finger dry head, decent lacing. The nose was bright, young fruits, citrus, soem metallic tones. The taste was dry and crisp, at first the medium/ high crabonation washed most of the taste away. Eventually I got a read on the fruity yet bitter balanced finished... this turned into a very nice brew. Beerapprentice (113), Hopatcong, New Jersey, USA Oct 5, 2009 On draft at Rattle n Hum. Pours a cloudy yellow colour with a thin white head. Aroma of cloves, ripe banana, and bubble gum. Flavor of cloves, lemon
bconley (351), Fern Park, Florida, USA Sep 22, 2009 Backlogged from GOBF. Clear golden saison style body with white head. Smell is kind of spicy minty, almost like chewing gum. Taste is pretty standard for a saison. Hoppy and spicy. Nice yesyouam (587), Fairport, New York, USA Aug 17, 2009 Brooklyn Flemish Gold is a cloudy pale bright yellow ale with a huge soft white head. The retention and lacing are superb. It smells sour, lemony and funky, with a slight band-aid whiff. It’s medium bodied and super smooth with a clean finish. The flavor is well balanced between sweet, sour and bitter. It’s funky and something about the flavor reminds me of lemon cake. It’s quite tasty.
[Sampled at the 2009 Flower City Brewers’ Fest at Frontier Field, Rochester, NY] Duhast500 (176), , Massachusetts, USA Jul 30, 2009 Poured into a tasting glass from the tap.
The color was a light gold with a white foamy head.
The smell was fruity, little hints of orange, grapefruit, and tangerine.
The taste was was a bit spicy, has a nice fruity a fruity finish.
I’m not sure what makes this Flemmish but it wasn’t half bad. A little off at first but after a few sips this beer grew on me.
RCL (1443), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA Jul 20, 2009 Clean, new mown hay aroma. Not very heavy on the spice, in fact, one of the lightest examples of the style i have had, but it is superbly executed and well balanced.
