COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn Lager, the Brewery's flagship label, is New York's "hometown" beer, brewed to a pre-Prohibition recipe that dates back to the days when Brooklyn was the brewing capital of the East Coast. Brooklyn Lager has won numerous awards. Wrote Michael Jackson in the Simon & Schuster Pocket Guide to Beer: "The dry-hopped, fresh, flowery, firm, flavourful, Brooklyn Lager **-*** started well, in 1988, and has gained in character since."

Comes out of the tap a beautiful clear orange amber with a thick, pale butter-tan head that leaves some substantial lacing. Aroma is strong, malty and slightly fruity. Malty flavor has firm fruity underpinning and a slight hoppy note. Firm-bodied texture is smooth, fizzy and lively. Normally I don’t care much for lagers, but this is a happy exception.

This beer is really pretty decent, but still nothing much to it. I like some more complexity.

Bottle from Tesco
Appearance - Amber orange, 1 finger white frothy head, hazy.
Aroma - Straw hops, floral notes, slight hint of orange
Taste - Emphasis on malt. Sweet malt, straw, caramel, slight hay with grassy/floral hops, bit of citrus. Lots of flavour for a lager.
Palate - Fresh mouthfeel, bit slick. Rapid bitter finish.
Overall - This is a world class lager - the best lager I’ve had so far.

33 cl bottle from Systembolaget. Clear amber liquid with medium white head. Aroma has notes of grain, bready malt, hay, caramel and some hops that are quite earthy and herbal. Taste is crisp and clean with medium bitterness and very light sweetness. Some citrusy hops in the flavour, otherwise quite malty. Light to medium bodied with nice carbonation. Overall, over average lager for a good price. Quite nice.

Clear, amber honey coloured body with decent head. Soft maltiness in the taste with not a lot hops featuring, caramel notes not a lot else.
