COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn Lager, the Brewery's flagship label, is New York's "hometown" beer, brewed to a pre-Prohibition recipe that dates back to the days when Brooklyn was the brewing capital of the East Coast. Brooklyn Lager has won numerous awards. Wrote Michael Jackson in the Simon & Schuster Pocket Guide to Beer: "The dry-hopped, fresh, flowery, firm, flavourful, Brooklyn Lager **-*** started well, in 1988, and has gained in character since."

Finally! Pours deep amber/copper with big off-white head. Deep caramel malts, brown sugar, baked bread, light citrus and floral hops. Big flavor - toasted biscuit, light caramel and sugar and a nice broad hop bitterness to balance. Toasted malt and hop bitterness slide out to the end. Crisp and light hop dryness, medium body. Big, bold, rustic lager. Tastes like fall in a bottle. Coming from a lager culture, this can’t be appreciated enough. Near lager perfection.

355ml bottle in New York City. Pours dark golden with a medium white head. Taste and aroma are very fresh and crisp, highly floral hops, some bread, spicy. Palte is pretty smooth, a refreshing Vienna lager.

Poured a clear golden with a decent head. Nice balance of hops and malts, a little sweetness and some bitterness. Well made lager, the way an everyday beer should be.

Bottle 355ml. Very tasty, nicely hopped. Aromas of grain, nuts, and hints of caramel. Taste is sweet and bitter, with average length. Palate is oily, highly carbonated, and medium bodied. Amber, with a thin head.

Bottle. Amber with a fading off white head. Aroma of bread, caramel, earth and spices. Barely sweet taste with nice balancing bitterness that’s floral and mildly spicy. Not terribly tasty - and a little light on the malts if you care that it’s a Vienna - but gluggable, balanced and food-friendly.

Tasted on 7/13/11 on draft at Whole Foods Lincoln Park. Pours clear bright orange with a thin white head that recedes to thin even lace and a decent collar. The nose is malty bread with some earthy yeast, and just a hint of green hops. The flavor is lightly sweet bread malt up front with lightly earthy yeast, and more bitter hops than I expected given the nose. The body is light with average carbonation and a medium bitter hops and sweet bread finish.
