COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn Lager, the Brewery's flagship label, is New York's "hometown" beer, brewed to a pre-Prohibition recipe that dates back to the days when Brooklyn was the brewing capital of the East Coast. Brooklyn Lager has won numerous awards. Wrote Michael Jackson in the Simon & Schuster Pocket Guide to Beer: "The dry-hopped, fresh, flowery, firm, flavourful, Brooklyn Lager **-*** started well, in 1988, and has gained in character since."

floral almost nutty aroma, pours with a dark cloudy-ish copper hue, moderate head, decent lacing, hoppy and fresh taste, slightl flowery, enjoyable and refreshing.

On tap, this is an all around good and easy to drink beer. Well balanced with a decent amount of hops, has a slight honey taste. Pretty good lager from a great brewery.

A fairly good beer. Relatively hoppy with a berrylike aroma. Tasty stuff.

Sweet malt nose, reddish amber pour with a dark white head. Suprising amount of head for a lager. The flavor is laden with light hops malt and fruity undertones. Good for an american lager. I was pleasently suprised.

UPDATED: AUG 14, 2005 Pretty ale-like for a lager, this brew matched their Pennant ale’s fruity esthers but has a more rounded, soft profile. A clean finish makes this a smooth drinking brew. Overall a bit boring, but certainly drinkable in a pinch.

UPDATED: JUL 15, 2003 Clear amber with medium of-white head. The aroma is sweet, floral, some bready. Taste is medium sweet, floral, some tart. Finish is light grassy and floral. Mild bitterness. Has a medium body -- readily drinkable, and a real delight. Great lager for an anti-lager person.

Nice copper color, very malty nose. A sweet iced tea taste. Some have commented on the hoppiness, I found it underhopped for my taste but as this is a Vienna, I guess it is to style. Not bad but doesn't knock your socks off either.

A deep red beer with a fine slightly orange head. Very lovely fruity aroma with sweet malt notes. The flavor lacks a little compared to the aroma - a little watery to start off, but then a sweet nice bitterness hits the back of the tongue and lingers for a long time. A very nice lager.

Like the Brown Ale, smooth and full, with bold head, but hoppy with little aftertaste.

Malty nose. Cooper hue with a large head. Dry hopped taste that is watery. Very little after taste. Not very inspiring at all.
