Brooklyn Lager, the Brewery's flagship label, is New York's "hometown" beer, brewed to a pre-Prohibition recipe that dates back to the days when Brooklyn was the brewing capital of the East Coast. Brooklyn Lager has won numerous awards. Wrote Michael Jackson in the Simon & Schuster Pocket Guide to Beer: "The dry-hopped, fresh, flowery, firm, flavourful, Brooklyn Lager **-*** started well, in 1988, and has gained in character since."

12 oz. New penny-colored and clear with a large lasting meringue of head. Earthy spiced caramel, crisp apple, slight molasses, grain, and a squeeze of lemon in the aroma. Flavors are the same and damn good; tastes more like a good ESB than a lager. Light-medium body is mostly smooth and dry on the finish.

Wow. Every so often the brewers self description is surprisingly off. This is a lager, true, but it’s amber color and malty character distinguish it as a Vienna and an excellent example at that! Very tasty beer.

Bottle BB feb 09. Big carbonation, almost gushing, Fresh citrus reminding of egg whites, sugar and lemon.. Pineapple, vanilla, apricots, papaya, mango and spicy hops. Medium body, grapy but soft. Clean and creamy. Some roasted malts. Dissapointingly short aftertaste.

A nice clear amber color with a sweet aroma of fruit and hops. A nice, clean drink with nothing too crazy on the palate. Very refreshing.

Bottle, from Whole Foods, Greenville, SC. Really nice looking beer. Amber color, nice nose of spices and hops. Nice floral hops and a peppery finish. Highly drinkable and very enjoyable.

Quite interesting lager. Floral and citrus notes in both flavor and aroma. Berries and slightly spices also. Lots of common with same brewery’s EIPA in hop sector.

It’s gonna be a photo finish, folks, as there are just days till we fly right past the "BEST BEFORE" date of June 08 notched onto the front label. Appearance: Pours a clear, amber body supporting a hefty crest of whiteish foam. Smell: Delicate toasty maltiness with a pleasant spicy, floral hop scent. Taste: Crisp, toasty malt flavor with a restrained sweetness that’s quickly scrubbed away by a spicy, floral hoppiness and medium bitterness. Finishes with a lingering spiciness and some sweetish grain hints. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Soft, medium level of carbonation. Drinkability: A fine, tasty lager from Brooklyn. If only every trip to Lagertown could be as satisfying.

Awesome brew, Had this at a beer tasting and really enjoyed it. Pours a deep but clear amber colour- fairly large head. Well balanced, nice touch of citrus fruit as well as hint of caramel. creamy texture with a long smooth hop finish.
