Brooklyn Lager, the Brewery's flagship label, is New York's "hometown" beer, brewed to a pre-Prohibition recipe that dates back to the days when Brooklyn was the brewing capital of the East Coast. Brooklyn Lager has won numerous awards. Wrote Michael Jackson in the Simon & Schuster Pocket Guide to Beer: "The dry-hopped, fresh, flowery, firm, flavourful, Brooklyn Lager **-*** started well, in 1988, and has gained in character since."

Bottle 0,33l. Starting beer in a tiny beer samling session together with Rune at Järnvägshotellet in Kiruna, Sweden. Clear golden brown. A pretty lasting tanned head. Hoppy aroma. Fruity flavour. Ending in a pleasant bitter lasting aftertaste. A bit unbalanced but a very good lager.

UPDATED: JUL 17, 2006 355ml bottle (Alc. 5.3%) sampled with Finn at Järnvägshotellet In Kiruna (13.07.2006). Nice appearance with a lasting white foam over an amber coloured content. Hoppy aroma. Flavour of sweet malt, fruit and hops. Sharp bitter finish. Lively carbonated. Medium bodied. Very much like a pale ale, so this is my best lager so far.

Veer (362) - Landskrona, SWEDEN - JUL 8, 2006
UPDATED: NOV 24, 2006 Aroma: fruity, lovely hops, full-bodied malt, vaguely musty. Appearance: almost clear amber, some whiute, yellowtinged head that quickly lowers. Flavor: bitter, full-bodied thanks to some swetness, hoppy afterbitterness. Palate: just right carbonation, rich, refreshing, a little slimy.

Bottle. Really aromatic, fruity hoppiness in the aroma. Good bite, hop dominated taste. Nice, prefers this to a lot of other beers.

Pours amber in color, has nice hoppy smell to it. Very nice hoppy bite in taste and goes down smooth. Overall good for its style.

Clear, amber appearance, under a slim, but sturdy speckled white head. Creamy, malty nose, quite attractive...soft and flowery, pleasant esters from yeast (?)... I like it. Taste: smooth, clean, crisp, malty. Light bodied, but nicely textured, good grit, tight balance, tidy hops meet copious malt. A streamlined beauty, full of flavor. Blend of fruit associations chimes in, some apple, melon, grape, mixed with grain. Quite a classy lager, this one, damned good. Almost ale-like in it’s display of flavors. Just goes to show what happens when a lager is done well! Can be drunk without disappointment, and no end in sight for the taste. Very, very nice!
