Brooklyn Lager, the Brewery's flagship label, is New York's "hometown" beer, brewed to a pre-Prohibition recipe that dates back to the days when Brooklyn was the brewing capital of the East Coast. Brooklyn Lager has won numerous awards. Wrote Michael Jackson in the Simon & Schuster Pocket Guide to Beer: "The dry-hopped, fresh, flowery, firm, flavourful, Brooklyn Lager **-*** started well, in 1988, and has gained in character since."

Not sure how I’ve never rated this. Tap at Project Parlor, Brooklyn. Pours amber with a big frothy head. Aroma is citrus, and nice sort of German malts. Flavor is similar, great balance between malts and hops actually despite that cliché. It’s good. Years ago, I loved this and then realized it wasn’t great but it’s a solid beer. As far as a staple goes, much less a lager, it’s good. I still dig it. It’s light, it’s very easy drinking.

355ml Bottle from Tesco, Dragonville, Durham. Coppery amber with a rocky, diminishing, off-white head and lively carbonation. Gassy nose with light citrus fruits and that slightly caramel noble hop-style tinge. Really crisp, bitter taste with a solid, beefy maltiness that sets it apart from many other lagers. It’s not sweet, it’s not sickly and it strikes a good balanced of being refreshing and leaving the mouth wanting for more. Very light toffee, bread and citrus flavours. Lively on the palate. This is a rarity - A lager I will gladly go back to.

Clear amber pour with a short-lived white head. Smells malty, of caramel and mashed grains. The taste is more bitter than the nose suggested, but well within the amber ale style. A decent beer.

Złote, klarowne. Piana kremowa, drobna, dość obfita. W aromacie intensywne nuty lagerowe, plus trochę zboża. W smaku goryczka, na początku dość ostra, potem przechodzi w łagodniejszą. Nie jest wysoka, ale wyraźna. Nie dominuje, znów wyczuwalne słody, plus lekka nuta kwiatowa. Niskie wysycenie. Jak na lagera bardzo udane.

Light, crisp and refreshing. Hoppy for a lager. Sweet bready aroma followed by a light bitterness. There’s something about this that makes me actually want to drink a lager. Most are usually middle of the road to pretty bad but this one is definitely solid. The hoppier take on it definitely is a plus.

Bottle at Bromma airport 151217. Dark amber with lacing white head. Malty nose. Sweet malty palate with bread and some bitterness. Not so hoppy though. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clear orange-ish color. Low to medium carbonation. Complex aroma. Nice fruitiness from the amber malts, bready. Bright American hops. A bit of potato? Fairly dry, with a good dose of light toast. Nice grassy, hoppiness in the finish. Refreshing. A very good lager.
