Brooklyn Lager, the Brewery's flagship label, is New York's "hometown" beer, brewed to a pre-Prohibition recipe that dates back to the days when Brooklyn was the brewing capital of the East Coast. Brooklyn Lager has won numerous awards. Wrote Michael Jackson in the Simon & Schuster Pocket Guide to Beer: "The dry-hopped, fresh, flowery, firm, flavourful, Brooklyn Lager **-*** started well, in 1988, and has gained in character since."

For me, this is a gateway beer to introduce a timid lager drinker to something with more hops and flavour. Out of the can it poured a clear medium copper colour. I experienced notes of caramel, hop aromatics, canned peaches, orange peel, and dried apricot, turning more biscuity in the palate. Creamy and refreshing.

33cl bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a white head. Nose is light malt, some floral character, some yeast, and some mild bitterness. Flavor is similar with malt, floral, some mild bitterness, and yeast. Light to medium in body. A very good lager.

Golden yellow on the darker side. As often in the Brooklyn-aromaa a touch of tropical fruit. Fresh and tasty. Bready. Great lager.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orange beer with a medium sized white head on top. Aroma of caramel, leafy hops, some grassy notes. Flavor is bittersweet, malty, hints of caramel again and some dried fruits. Some notes of biscuits in there as well. Softly carbonated, short light bitter finish. Decent.

Reminds me of a Northern German Pils Style. Pronounced bitterness, round body, golden amber colour with a white head. Malty noise with some fruitiness in the background.
