COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn Lager, the Brewery's flagship label, is New York's "hometown" beer, brewed to a pre-Prohibition recipe that dates back to the days when Brooklyn was the brewing capital of the East Coast. Brooklyn Lager has won numerous awards. Wrote Michael Jackson in the Simon & Schuster Pocket Guide to Beer: "The dry-hopped, fresh, flowery, firm, flavourful, Brooklyn Lager **-*** started well, in 1988, and has gained in character since."

I was desperate to find a quality American Lager and this is one of the best. Nice color, full taste and aroma....nice. Just a little to hoppy in my opinion but I will definitely be buying more of this pre-prohibition American beer.

355ml at Alquitara. Orangish coloured beer with a creamy head of medium duration. Aroma is moderate malty, slihtly hoppy and sweet. Flavour is sweet at the beginning, with some honey hints and dense on palate. The final results moderate bittery with a medium duration. Texture is oily. Carbonation is low to medium. Body is medium.

The bold aroma gave way to a lightly bitter taste but a nice pleasing lager. A nice long smooth finish was present

Tasty but to me not much like a lager I would know - has much more malt quality to it. Not that that’s a bad thing all things told but it’s a little surprising. Decent but not particularly exciting.

Pours a deep golden with some copper coloring and a tall, big bubbled, frothy head. Aroma has a very flowery hops presence to it with some mild citrus and solid grainy presence with just a touch of toasted malt late. Flavor has a light lemon early with a pronounced flowery nectar sweetness in the middle and a light grainy touch at the end. Body is light with a lot of sharp carbonation. Overall a pretty good brew. My only knock on it would be the flowery sweetness in the middle is just a tad bit too much for my liking but a very solid brew all in all.

Bottle. Pours a clear dark amber with a medium white head. Smells of caramel, malt and some flowery hops. Tastes a medium bitter with a medium sweet, but somehow feels like its missing something. Finishes dry bitter with a long duration. Creamy texture. Soft carbonation.

It’s ok. Nothing overwhelming. Not sure if I’d buy again. Or get another 6 pack. Could take it or leave it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
