COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn Lager, the Brewery's flagship label, is New York's "hometown" beer, brewed to a pre-Prohibition recipe that dates back to the days when Brooklyn was the brewing capital of the East Coast. Brooklyn Lager has won numerous awards. Wrote Michael Jackson in the Simon & Schuster Pocket Guide to Beer: "The dry-hopped, fresh, flowery, firm, flavourful, Brooklyn Lager **-*** started well, in 1988, and has gained in character since."

Sweet cereal grain and flowery aromas. Nice golden color-- looks very clear. Medium bodied, crisp lager. Very tasty and refreshing. Malty sweet flavors backed by flowery, fruity, hop spice. I will drink this again for sure.

UPDATED: APR 15, 2011 Nice golden color, very crisp taste on the tongue. Goes down very smooth, could drink quite a few of these.

Pours a real nice, slightly cloudy amber with a frothy white head that gives nice lacing. Aroma is floral hops and caramel malt with some fruity notes. Taste is sweet caramel malt with some fruit backed up by a nice long dry bitey bitter finish. Really enjoyable Lager.

Having visited the brewery numerous times, this classic is one of my favorites. I love its floral aroma, and particularly the balance between hops and caramel.

Pours a darker Vienna looking lager. Nose is grassy hops and caramel. Taste is really flavoursome for a lager. Fruity floral hops up front, sweet caramel hops and then a dry finish that’s nicely balanced by fruit in the hops.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet (Vika), Oslo. Deep golden/amber colour, clear. Small offwhite head, settling as a robust film and a little lacing. Aroma is hoppy with caramel and some ’dark citrus’ notes, hint of cardboard. Medium/light body, average carbonation. Nice, mild malt taste, well-balanced hop bitterness, a little watery. Pleasantly mild bitter aftertaste. Good but unspectacular lager.

Pours thin with a medium Amber very un lager like colour with fluffy light head. on the nose large notes of floral and citrus delightfully enticing, much more that you would usefully expect from a lager. Tastes largely of the hops that you smells with a lovely bitter carbonated kick. The 5.2 abv balences out the malt/hop balance nicely. On the palate it is light with a large flavour profile very little of the "wet corn flake" taste you useilly find in lagers. Overall this beer is fantastic, I can see why this beer is their flagship brew, could drink a lot of these and still enjoy it on the 4th drink,

12 oz brown bottle. Best before Nov 2010. It pours a golden/orange/red color with a modest white head that doesn’t leave much lacing. It has a decent aroma, it is mildly hoppy with a lot of breadiness. It tastes pretty fresh, a nice mouthful of noble hops and bread. It is simple but clean and effective.
