COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn Lager, the Brewery's flagship label, is New York's "hometown" beer, brewed to a pre-Prohibition recipe that dates back to the days when Brooklyn was the brewing capital of the East Coast. Brooklyn Lager has won numerous awards. Wrote Michael Jackson in the Simon & Schuster Pocket Guide to Beer: "The dry-hopped, fresh, flowery, firm, flavourful, Brooklyn Lager **-*** started well, in 1988, and has gained in character since."

Amber dark orange pour from the bottle. White head that maintains a layer on the top of the brew with minimal lacing on my lager glass. Malty pretzel flowers in the aroma with a bit of lemony grassy notes. The flavor is up front with the malty butter biscuit that gets chased by the floral and citrus tones from the hops. I like the balance this beer has with the crisp dry finish. Becoming more of a lager fan with each new one I taste. This is a nicely crafted Vienna!

Bottle. Golden with a white lasting head. Fresh smells and a smooth taste with a hoppy finish. A good lager. High above the average industrials

Bottle at Den Gode Nabo, Trondheim. Pours clear golden with an one inch creamy white head.Nice hoppy aroma with a powerful malty feel to it. Taste starts very malt oriented, but with a solid hoppy background to balance it off with. Very good beer.

UPDATED: AUG 27, 2011 (on draft at Bentlee’s) A good pick as my session beer of choice at Bentlee’s in Mountain Lakes. Well balanced and mild flavored, but not watery. Second sample from bottle (from Duane Reade) during a NYC weekend getaway. A bit richer than I remembered and good pick for a casual session.

35,5cl bottle at Håndverkerstuene. It poured a rather dark orange colour for a lager, but the head was small and vanished quickly as lagers usually do. Aroma is mostly grassy but also notes of hops and cereal. Flavour is dry. Mostly grassy with hints of grains and corn. Short aftertaste.
