Brooklyn Lager, the Brewery's flagship label, is New York's "hometown" beer, brewed to a pre-Prohibition recipe that dates back to the days when Brooklyn was the brewing capital of the East Coast. Brooklyn Lager has won numerous awards. Wrote Michael Jackson in the Simon & Schuster Pocket Guide to Beer: "The dry-hopped, fresh, flowery, firm, flavourful, Brooklyn Lager **-*** started well, in 1988, and has gained in character since."

Poured from a bottle for the umpteenth time. Transparent tan color with little head> Smells grassy with an herbal floral resin. Tastes of hops with malty finish. This is one of my favorite "go-to" beers where ever/when ever. Perfect example to be a flagship of Brooklyn.

12 oz. can poured into a pint. Nice amber pour with moderate head. Excellent flavors. Well balanced lager. Just hoppy enough for that great tangy flavor. Definitely a great everyday beer.

Bottle. Orange with a moderate off white head. Aroma of sweet toasted malt and fruity floral hops. Flavor predominantly malty balanced by light bitter hops. Light bodied.

Brooklyn Lager has a medium, off-white head and a relatively clear, amber-golden appearance. Carbonation is moderate, and a nice amount of lacing is left down the glass. Aroma is predominately of piney hops (to me), although the bottle label talks about floral hops. Taste is very good, with an overriding hop flavor. Mouth-feel is light and watery, and Brooklyn Lager finishes refreshing and wet. Overall, I found this to be an outstanding beer. RJT

On tap at the Meddlesome Moth. The beer pours an orange color with a smaller white head. The aroma is a lot of biscuit malt with some floral and fruity notes. The flavor is biscuit malt, flowers, grassy hops and a little bit of fruit. The beer is very clean tasting and very easy to drink. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Surprisingly aromatic for a vienna style lager... almost has the aroma of a pale ale with the notable dry hopped aroma... clear amber golden with a nice sustained head that leaves excellent lacing... clean flavor, a little undercarbonated, nice clean somewhat biscuity malt flavor and some flowery hoppiness along with the standard grassy hop flavors... very nice lager, easy drinking.... surprisingly good beer...

355ml bottle, 5.2% a/v Pours a fiery light orange colour with a generous tan head. The aroma is stella, hoppy like mad and a caramel note to back it. The taste is also great, almost a "beginners" IPA, as it has all the great floral and citrus hoppiness expected but not a hopbomb like some others. Good balance! The aftertaste is also hoppy and balanced. This is a great beer to introduce your Budweiser friends to, try and get them drinking better beer!
