3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
355ml brown bottle, poured into a Lager glass. Appearance is clear amber with a medium sized foamy beige head with decent retention, that when reduced left some lacing. Aroma of grapefruit, orange peels and wheat bread. Flavours of grapefruit, orange peels, wheat bread and a hint of caramel. Taste is light sweet and light-medium bitter. Palate is light-medium bodied, slightly oily texture and average carbonation. Overall a good sessionable lager, however the hops dominate the flavours, I would have liked this beer a little more malty.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Joe Canals West Deptford.
Appearance: The body has perfect clarity, showing off active carbonation bubbles in the amber body. The head is stout but dense and persistent with a light tan hue. Very nice looking beer.
Aroma: The aroma is on the light side with a mild malty sweetness with hints of bread and caramel. There’s a subtle hop aroma, slightly floral as well.
Taste: The intro is malty with a mild malt sweetness but it’s balanced by the mid-taste by a sort of herbal tea-like dryness. The finish continues building on the herbal qualities, fading out the malts. The finish is dry and lingers a moment with a light tea flavor. Mildly bitter and nicely balanced.
Palate: Full-bodied with a good carbonation presence, fits to style.
Overall: This is one of the top amber lagers for a reason, it’s no frills and balanced very nicely. Subtle hops balance the malts nicely for an approachable drink even a macro drinker could enjoy.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours clear orange
Smell is weak, full malts and some hops , but not to intense .
Taste is very full . Slightly bitter, but not too much at all . very full malty base , pretty intense in the taste, actually . Some corn .
Very good carbonation
If this was the standard of lager beers, i’d be a lagerboy !

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours pretty dark amber. Smell of caramel and resin. Taste of viennamalt goes through, semi hoppy with a sharp bitterness that quickly ends, a faint leathery taste comes up towards the end which is not very likable.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from bottle. Smells more like a pale ale than lager. Clear amber with lacing - the way a lager should look. I taste hops, hay, barley. Dry and refreshing. Good stuff.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
DATE TASTED: February 6, 2014... GLASSWARE: 22 oz. pilsner...OCCASION: the Olympics begin in Sochi--and I am a fool for the hype... APPEARANCE: beautiful orange-amber body; healthy and bubbly; thick, rocky white head that settles well; noticeable tracing... AROMA: fragrant malt; faint yet formidable citric elements--lemongrass, some pear--and some softer hops--understated but alluring... PALATE: medium-bodied, slightly oily--solid mouthfeel--active and bubbly ...TASTE: light malts hint at bubblegum and muffin--refreshingly light overall, with a taste that invites a six-pack without simply rinsing... OVERALL: A companion piece to Sam Adams’ offering, though not as bold, big or bountiful; a solid mix-pack filler, a session beer for certain, and definitely versatile enough to be a plus at parties where macros are offered mindlessly....
