Brooklyn Lager, the Brewery's flagship label, is New York's "hometown" beer, brewed to a pre-Prohibition recipe that dates back to the days when Brooklyn was the brewing capital of the East Coast. Brooklyn Lager has won numerous awards. Wrote Michael Jackson in the Simon & Schuster Pocket Guide to Beer: "The dry-hopped, fresh, flowery, firm, flavourful, Brooklyn Lager **-*** started well, in 1988, and has gained in character since."

SB Oskarshamn, flaska. Frisk och uppiggande arom. Välbalanserad mellan malt och humle. Bra vardagslager.Annanas och tallbarr som vanligt...

As a good friend said, "If all lagers were like this, we’d be fine".

Bottle. Crisp taste, quite mild and easily drinkable. Not much Nose at all. Light body, average carbonation. Decent, but nothing special.

0.33 bottle at Spritz bar, Umag. Pours murky dark amber, small off white head. Aroma of pears, bread, malty, tropical. Medium carbonation, medium body, could have more body. Hoppy character well balanced. A good example how an American lager should be.

Bottle. Clear golden colour with a frothy white head. Hoppy aroma with notes of citrus and malt. Somewhat dry taste with medium bitterness and a bit of acid. Alcohol is noticeable. Light body with fizzy carbonation and a long, bitter finish. Good, but a little too dry for me.

Slightly hazy amber color with medium white head. Caramel malts on the aroma, quite sweet and slightly hoppy. Taste is much better than the aroma, it follows it, with caramel and some hoppy hints, but more intense. Nice bitter aftertaste.

When the bottle is opened, I sense that this lager have a very high level. There spreads a welcoming malty aroma and by pouring makes it a nice foam that keeps really long. Flower and fruit rises from the glass and the taste is rich in malt, fruit and a delicious rich hoppy bitterness. As in many other Americans the hops rich in this lager. Fortunately, the US Cascade hop gives the finishing touch in this completed lager.

Botella.

Deep golden-amber colour with a medium sized off white frothy head. Some bread malt aromas up front supported by light fruity esters. Light tangy even crisp with a light slickness and a medium body. Malt sweetness up front which lets the fruity hop bitterness shine through. Medium lasting finish.

355cc bottle. Pours amber clear with thin head. Some floral and resin hops on a slightly sweet caramely backbone. Finish is quite dry and bitter for a lager. Very nice surprise. It is not the typical lager. Thirs quenching and refreshing. Pairs nicely with light meals.
