COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn Lager, the Brewery's flagship label, is New York's "hometown" beer, brewed to a pre-Prohibition recipe that dates back to the days when Brooklyn was the brewing capital of the East Coast. Brooklyn Lager has won numerous awards. Wrote Michael Jackson in the Simon & Schuster Pocket Guide to Beer: "The dry-hopped, fresh, flowery, firm, flavourful, Brooklyn Lager **-*** started well, in 1988, and has gained in character since."

12 oz can. Lightly hazed amber with sparse white foam. Nose is toffee, mango and sweet herbs. Crisp and bracing medium light, even a bit resiny. Taste is tangerine peel and bitter grass finishing a bit metallic. Surprising for a vienna.

Light amber with light tan head. Floral, malty and hopy aroma. Hopy, mid sweet taste, lightly bitter. A lot of flavor. Medium body, average carbonation. Like an IPA with no enough bitternes. But is a good one.

Aroma: No discernable smell, probably due to the thick head.

Appearance: Amber body with pillowy, lasting white head. Lots of carbonation

Taste: Fresh, grassy flavours. Surprisingly strong malt taste for a lager.

Palate: Silky texture, almost creamy. Slightly bitter finish.

Overall: A very tasty, drinkable lager that has some ale characteristics.

One of the better lagers that I have tried. Has a nice hoppy taste, with a nice slight bitterness, and crisp finish. A solid, refreshing brew

This is by far the best beer that is readily available at Shea Stadium (it’s still called Shea, not that Citi Field nonsense). You can actually taste the hops. Not the best beer ever, but oftentimes the best beer available at bars in New York.

On the side of the label it says this is a "malt liquor" which scared the hell out of me. My fears were unwarranted and I was pleasently surprised. Pours an amber orange with an off white head. Nose is of caramel and roasted corn. Rich flavor with little hops but moderately malty. After taste is thick, like melted caramel syrup. Had in bottle at AYZA Wine & Chocolate Bar, 11 West 31st Street, Manhatten, New York City.
