COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn Lager, the Brewery's flagship label, is New York's "hometown" beer, brewed to a pre-Prohibition recipe that dates back to the days when Brooklyn was the brewing capital of the East Coast. Brooklyn Lager has won numerous awards. Wrote Michael Jackson in the Simon & Schuster Pocket Guide to Beer: "The dry-hopped, fresh, flowery, firm, flavourful, Brooklyn Lager **-*** started well, in 1988, and has gained in character since."

355ml bottle shared with friends. Pours amber with a thin white head. Lovely nose of citrus, roast malt, caramel with spicy hints of chili. Tastes nice and bitter, a little sourness. Nice bit of citrus and malt. Medium and dry palate with a nice lingering bitterness. Overall, very tasty and complex for a lager.

Bottle. Pours clear amber with airy but stable off-white head. Clear aroma of hops and malt with a distinct flowery and fruity note. Fruity onset leading quickly to a bitter, hoppy flavour. Dry aftertaste. Refreshing and good.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before March 2013. Pours lightly cloudy golden orange color with a very nice 2 finger fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of caramel, apple, pear, orange zest, cracker, biscuit, floral, herbal, light pepper, and earthy hops. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and decent strength. Taste of apple, pear, orange zest, caramel, cracker, biscuit, floral, herbal, light pepper, and hop earthiness. Light herbal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of pear, apple, orange zest, caramel, cracker, biscuit, floral, herbal, light pepper, and earthy hops on the finish for a short bit. Very nice balance of flavors with solid robustness; and zero cloying flavors present after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a lightly creamy, smooth, and fairly crisp mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with hardly any warming noticed at all after the finish. Overall this is a very good amber lager. Nice fairly robust flavors with good balance; and extremely smooth to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Poured from a bottle, clear-slightly hazy amber color with a small head. For a lager, it has a decent hop/floral aroma, maybe some malty sweetness in the smell. Taste is good for a lager: crisp with a balance of hops and malts. Bitter aftertaste. Decent lager. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

35.5cl bottle. Dark golden colour with a medium white head. Medium body and good carbonation. Floral aroma mixed with malts. Lots of toffee notes and substantial bitterness in the mouth. Doesn’t look like a lager, fits better with a hoppy Amber Ale (slightly decoloured in that sense).

Drinking notes from 2-28-2010: The pour left a decent head, but quickly ended. Amber in color, had a floral aroma. Amber in color, clear. High hop taste, left over on palate. Overall a little above average lager.

A - Pours golden honey brown. 2 finger fluffy head that dissipates rather quick. S - Toffe malt, floral and citrus hops. M - Good carbonation. Light to medium body. T - Caramel malt up front laced with nice citrus hops. Bready and finishes dry. You almost forget that you’re drinking a lager. It has a tea like quality. Wonderful citrus aftertaste..
