Quite a good lager this one is! Very smooth and very easy on the drinkability scale; sure, you can chug it down but save that for those lessor quality macro-brews! This is a very solid brew and surely won’t disappoint you in any way. Very robust and flavorful and will be a nice addition to your BBQ or fish fry! A bit more hoppy than most other amber/red lagers that I have tasted but it is surely nothing overbearing nor takes away from its good qualities!

A very session-able beer. Even flavored nice balance of floral, and citric hops. Very approachable.

12 oz bottle from variety case. I really enjoyed this, has a nice hop aroma and flavor. In my opinion this is better than the east India pale ale.

Tall boy. Aroma of slight malt. Pours copper with tanish head. Taste is nice mix of malt and hops. Some crisp grain notes popup on palate. Nicely structured beer.

Amber in colour with a nice frothy white head. this is my kind of lager really, has some good maly aroma and flavours, looks like an Oktoberfest/Vienna lager although the brewery describe it as a pre-prohibition style lager. I guess this means a lager that is more malt driven and flavoursome than the mega-lagers that are currently about. A more full flavoured lager, with good chewy malt flavours. A very nice beer actually, I hope we get some of their other beers in Australia soon.
4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 mandalarules (69) - Akron, Ohio, USA - SEP 8, 2011
Aroma has an earthy, slighty floral, citrus scent to it. Appearance is golden, amber color with a white foam head. Taste is light sweetness, with light caramel and bit of floral, definitely a flavorful lager. Palate is light body to medium, slick feel, lively carbonation and a slightly bitter finish. Overall this is one of the best everday beers in the world. You’ll probably finish the glass before you finish your actual review.

Really quite enjoyable! On draft. Biscuit/cereal malts plus lots of floral hops. Bit of richer caramel as well maybe. Refreshing, flavourful, nice!
4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 bsp77 (724) - Minnesota, USA - SEP 5, 2011
Serving glass: Poured from bottle into Pint.
Appearance: Clear, light copper with thin but sustained head. Light lacing.
Aroma: Fairly dry, with toast, caramel, cherry and floral and citrusy hops.
Taste: Nice malt backbone of toast and caramel with almost no sweetness. Hops are quite apparent and include nice floral notes from the noble hops as well as an unusual blast of citrus due to the cascade hops. Great use of dry-hopping for a typically simple lager.
Palate: Moderately high carbonation with a fairly light body. This is a very crisp, clean and dry beer; quite simply, perfect for this type of beer.
Overall: Other than a couple Pilsners out there, this is about as good as an everyday lower alcohol lager can get. This should be bigger than Sam Adams Boston Lager. But New York is always better than Boston, right? Just kidding, I am from Minnesota and really couldn’t care less about the rivalry.
