COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn Lager, the Brewery's flagship label, is New York's "hometown" beer, brewed to a pre-Prohibition recipe that dates back to the days when Brooklyn was the brewing capital of the East Coast. Brooklyn Lager has won numerous awards. Wrote Michael Jackson in the Simon & Schuster Pocket Guide to Beer: "The dry-hopped, fresh, flowery, firm, flavourful, Brooklyn Lager **-*** started well, in 1988, and has gained in character since."

This was was much better the second time I tried this. The aromas were of mild hops with some grainy essence. The color was a dark golden color with a huge head. This is not a favorite style of mine because they tend to be low on excitement and flavor. This was one the best of its kind I’ve had. Crisp and light palate. Hoppier version that still had remnants that were true to style. Good beer to drink with most foods.

Medium dark brown colour with nice head. Lots of bitter hops in the flavor and aroma. Medium full body. Good effort for a lager.

Aroma sweet, bready and hoppy. A really full bodied and flavoured lager with a slightly resinous quality. Good head retention. Really good lager, the highest score (equal) I have ever given a lager.

Bottle into lager glass. Golden-amber color with off-white head. Aroma of malt sweetness, some caramel, light fruity hop and floral notes. Taste is the aroma adding grainy and nut notes. Light body, moderate carbonation, fragrant, mild bitterness, malty with a nice dry finish. I’m surprised by this; flavorful, balanced and a lager. I can see myself buying more of this for warm summer days.

Nice appearance but taste too much like water. Try the Brooklyn East India Pale Ale instead.
