Brooklyn Lager, the Brewery's flagship label, is New York's "hometown" beer, brewed to a pre-Prohibition recipe that dates back to the days when Brooklyn was the brewing capital of the East Coast. Brooklyn Lager has won numerous awards. Wrote Michael Jackson in the Simon & Schuster Pocket Guide to Beer: "The dry-hopped, fresh, flowery, firm, flavourful, Brooklyn Lager **-*** started well, in 1988, and has gained in character since."

Verry hoppy for a lager. Clear amber pour. Malty aroma. Drinkable, but wont be listed among my favorites.

355ml bottle at home. Clear amber/orange with a medium white head with low retention. Light to medium body with moderate carbonation. Medium bitterness with some sweet tones. Citrus, grass, some hops and herbs. A tasty and refreshing brew.

De geur is heel lekker, schuim krijg je bijna niet als je uit schenkt, de smaak zelfs is nogal waterachtig

16 oz can poured into a shaker. The aroma is light, mostly sweet citrus and caramel with some bread crust. It pours a clear, dark shade of orange-yellow and has a thick white foam head. This reduces down to a thin ring with a light dust sprinkling on the surface. It leaves behind a light, fuzzy messy lace. The taste is a good balance between medium sweet and bitter. The medium bodied beer is fizzy with an oily, slick texture. The finish is primarily orange and caramel with a surprising amount of spice and a touch of resin. It’s crisp and dry with an aftertaste of lingering spice, pine, and wood chips. Very clean.

I thought it was mostly a hype, but this beer is indeed surprisingly good for a lager. Fresh and quite hoppy. Good.

Heldere caramel kleur met een volle kraag. Ruikt honing, hop, fruitig. Smaakt fruitig, hop, beetje orange. Beethe honing en beetje ipa-achtig.

Pours a medium amber. Visible carbonation. Not much in the way of head or lacing. Aromas are light. What is there is a blend of light citrus, caramel and wet cardboard. Tastes are dry caramel, a bit of biscuit, a bit of citrus on the swallow. Overall, this is a fairly mild beer. As a lager I give it credit for bringing more to the table than a lot do in this category, but the word "forgettable" keeps creeping into my mind when compared to most beers I drink..

Malty and citrusy taste. Deep amber color with a white head. A good pick if you want a malty beer wich fits perfektly to hot days in the summer

Transfer from BA review on 10-9-12- Poured from bottle into pint glass Appearance – The beer pours ac copper-amber color with a two finger white head. The head fades rather slowly to leave a great level of lacing. Smell- The aroma is of a lightly roasted malt with some caramel sweetness. Mixed with these aromas is a light but nice blend of a herbal and floral hop aroma. Taste – The taste started out on the crisper and breadier side. Quickly a caramel sweetness greets the tongue and sweetens the flavor. These flavors persist throughout the taste until more towards the end. At that point an herbal and floral hop flavor comes to the tongue. While they start lighter, they grow stronger and stronger, and in the end, leave a crisp and bitter flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body is on the slightly chewy side for the abv. and style with a carbonation level that is rather average. The chewiness, while not characteristic of a lager, was actually very nice of the herbal and floral hop flavors. Overall the mouthfeel was great. Overall – A good herbal and floral lager that is crisp and delicious.

Bottle, 35,5cl. Clear amber colour with a small off-white head. Fruity amber lager aroma with red berries, peaches, citrus, herbal hobs in the nose along the typical biscuits, bready malty aroma. Flavour is initial shortly sweet, centred around the fruity sensations, as it quickly turns malty with clear a distinct hoppy bitterness. Ends dry in a long finish. Slick, dry texture with a medium body and average carbonation. A pleasantly surprise.
