Brooklyn Lager, the Brewery's flagship label, is New York's "hometown" beer, brewed to a pre-Prohibition recipe that dates back to the days when Brooklyn was the brewing capital of the East Coast. Brooklyn Lager has won numerous awards. Wrote Michael Jackson in the Simon & Schuster Pocket Guide to Beer: "The dry-hopped, fresh, flowery, firm, flavourful, Brooklyn Lager **-*** started well, in 1988, and has gained in character since."

Love this brewery! Never had a bad bew from these guys. The flagship of this brewery is the Brooklyn Lager. Pours copper with nice head and tastes like a lager should - malty but not too heavy. Taste is cramel and almonds (light). Nose is resiny and hints of citrus. Near perfect beer.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orange beer with a medium sized white head on top. Aroma of caramel, leafy hops, some grassy notes. Flavor is bittersweet, malty, hints of caramel again and some dried fruits. Some notes of biscuits in there as well. Softly carbonated, short light bitter finish. Decent.

Reminds me of a Northern German Pils Style. Pronounced bitterness, round body, golden amber colour with a white head. Malty noise with some fruitiness in the background.

On tap. Pours a slightly hazy medium amber with a large, creamy, long lasting, off-white head that leaves plenty of lacing. Sweet aroma of caramel malt, fruity hops and bread. Sweet flavour of caramel malt, citrus and bread with a dry, mildly bitter, hoppy finish. Light body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Very good for the style.

33 cl bottle @ home. Orange beer, minimal beige head. Aroma starts fresh with some citrus, then dominated by malty bread and caramel tones. Taste is fresh and sweet, with a mild bitter finish. Nice beer, could do with a bit more body.
